Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles (& some other stuff) 2016, part 2

Posted by Robin on 16 February 2016 16 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Today's post includes collector editions from Thierry Mugler and  Guerlain; new travel sprays from Reminiscence Paris, plus new Eau de Toilette versions of Chloé Love Story and Jil Sander Simply.

Thierry Mugler Alien Divine Ornamentations

From Thierry Mugler, Alien in the Divine Ornamentations edition: "Alien Divine Ornamentations goes beyond the gold overdose trend and projects gold from all angles. Mysterious and sensual, Alien is a floral-woody-amber blend of jasmine sambac with exotic cashmeran wood and white amber. This refillable limited edition bottle is subtly dressed in the noblest material. A cracked gold effect has been applied to the bottle emphasising the multiple facets making this limited edition an object of desire." At Harrods in the UK, £69 for 60 ml Eau de Parfum.

Guerlain Santal Royal Collector

From Guerlain, Santal Royal Collector: "This beautiful bottle is a covetable limited edition of this bewitching fragrance." £125 for 125 ml Eau de Parfum, also at Harrods.

Reminiscence Paris Vapo de Sac

From Reminiscence Paris, new leather(?)-clad travel sprays of Patchouli and Rem. Limited edition, €25 each for 20 ml. At Nocibe in France.

Chloé Love Story EdT

From Chloé, a new Eau de Toilette version of Love Story: "Chloé Love Story Eau de Toilette is a new love story, fresher, more floral, more sensual. The fragrance of orange blossom, fresh and floral, mingles with the scent of the dew. Prunus flower reveals its intense green facet, utterly refined, heightened by a dewy floral accord, marked with carefree joy. Pure seduction, to be worn on bare skin." In 30 or 50 ml, at Boots in the UK.

Simply Jil Sander Eau de Toilette

From Jil Sander, Simply Jil Sander in Eau de Toilette, described as a "lighter, sensual version" of the original Eau de Parfum. With violet, pear, tuberose and leather accord, available in 40, 60 and 80 ml. (via moodiereport)

Ooh, I hate Alien, but that bottle is gorgeous.

I had the exact same reaction! Wish they would do a gold-flecked bottle of Angel Liqueur de Parfum, in just that purple color. Which is not likely 😉

“To be worn on bare skin.” As opposed to…?

Yah. I got a chuckle out of that one too.

I love the Alien bottle but if i could never smell one perfume again, it would be Alien. As ditsy and cloying as Light Blue is, Alien smells seriously wrong.

    I love the Guerlain too.

The Alien bottles remind me do much of Ambassador Kosh from Babylon Five, they just make me laugh. I’ve never smelled the juice. Sounds like I should try not to!

Some people absolutely love it (it’s been a good seller for years) – so you never know.

Yes, this one especially brings Ambassador Kosh to mind! 😉

WOW. That bottle of Alien is gorgeous. I used to be a huge lover of Alien, but the formulation these days always comes off as tinny and thin compared to what it originally was.

That Alien bottle is gorgeous. I could be misremembering since it had been a while since I’ve worn or even smelled Alien on a scent strip. Somehow, I recall it smelling like Root Beer?

The Rreminiscence bottles look nice and have a good price point!

The Alien bottle is beautiful, and I am a big fan of the perfume. I hope to get to see it in person.

The Alien bottle is kinda cool (though I wouldn’t say there is anything subtle about it). But I’ve never entirely gotten along with Alien. There was always a note in it that bugged me, and I don’t remember where I read it, but someone described it as Windex, and now I can’t un-smell it.
