Posted by Robin on 13 December 2015 14 Comments

Our second-to-last holiday gift post includes stocking stuffers and cheap thrills. Our last post for 2015 will be the luxury edition, coming up early next week.

leone-violet-s

Italian violet pastilles (for spring lovers!) from Leone, $4.99 at Smallflower.

os-c-2s

The 2ème Arrondissement candle from & Other Stories features a rose fragrance from perfumer Jerome Epinette: "The magic of deep blooming rose tells the story of our Paris Atelier." $25 at & Other Stories.

pfc-s

Philosophy's limited edition "ornament" holds a 15 ml travel spray of Fresh Cream: "Philosophy's fan-favorite Fresh Cream fragrance, a softly sweet, creamy vanilla eau de toilette, is all wrapped up for the holiday in exclusive ornament packaging, ready for gifting." $18 at Macy's.

vet-owl-s

A vetiver owl ornament: "Vetiver is the common name for a perennial grass native to India. The fiber of this special grass has many uses, from roof-thatch to animal feed, but in this case, the artisans of Pekerti in Indonesia use traditional crafting techniques to form an endearing animal ornament." $6 at Ten Thousand Villages.

smelling-salts-s

It’s cute — I looked in a TTV store for that owl but didn’t see it.

Real #greed is when you want all of those on the luxury post…I think you could have everything here for about $100. And since $100 is the new free, you basically just want a few freebies.

    Wow! Nice Picks!

I need to get my hands on the 15 mL Fresh Cream ornament – it’s the perfect travel size!

The Vetiver Owl is so adorable. I love owls. There was a Tiny House episode where the owners had a live miniature owl — it was so cute!

I have the Yves Rocher Candied Orange and Cinnamon lip balm from my last order. It is very moisturizing but boo hoo it doesn’t have SPF so it is not as versatile as I had hoped.

Mmmm, violet candies! I’ve just discovered les Anis de Flavigny. I’ve tried violet and orange blossom so far. They are both so good that I’m not sure which I like better. I’ll be trying rose next. (I get them at an Italian grocer but i checked and Smallflowet carries them. $4.25 for a 50g tin.) I need to try that violet tea some day but I really don’t want to pay for shipping.

I like those candies too — only tried the violet so far.

If you mean the Kusmi, they have free shipping pretty frequently — do join their mailing list.

I just placed my order. I got the Russian blend mini tins and refills of Violet and Earl Grey. I couldn’t bring myself to pay the five dollars extra for the tins. Thanks again!

I like the vetiver. I like owls. That vetiver owl is kind creepy looking though. And when I say “creepy” I don’t mean in a horror kind of bad way. It’s just very odd looking. It reminds me of some weird creature from The Dark Crystal that you are half repulsed by but then think it’s cute at the same time because it’s not half as creepy as the other characters.

It reminded me of Dobby at first glance.
