Diptyque holiday candles 2015

Diptyque holiday candles 2015

Diptyque will introduce their Holiday 2015 candle collection early next month. This year's trio was inspired by the olfactory attributes of trees, and includes Sapin, Oliban and Liquidambar. The decorations are by painter Julien Colombier.

Sapin (fir tree) ~ "The base which provides shelter for a childhood, the beauty of winter and the memories of a Christmas gone by. The fragrant resin crystals are infused with a hint of mandarin: a familiar yet unprecedented meeting of citrusy and woody notes."

Liquidambar (sweetgum tree) ~ "A Celebration of the delights of nature which embraces the redness of this large autumnal tree. Its enveloping liquid amber is spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon sand cloaked in the scent of brown sugar which a provides sweet and warm veil of gourmand accents."

Oliban (frankincense) ~ "A thousand and one mysteries are released through its sweet oriental vapours of incense. The woody accents are set against fresh notes and balmy tones."

The Diptyque Sapin, Liquidambar and Oliban candles will be $70 each for 190 g (about 50-60 hours burn time); a smaller 70 g size will also be available.

From what I remember, you haven’t had any purchases this year! You do deserve it!

They all sound fantastic! I’ve a few through the years and they are very nice. I wonder if they’ll do a sampler of all three.

These sound amazing! My first Diptyque candle was Cypress and I love it.

On another note, does anybody else have a strange fear of candles? I’ve always used candles, never (thank God) had any sort of accident, but I’ve had a feeling lately arise out of nowhere that I will knock one over or something. I don’t have cats, dogs, little children, OCD tendencies etc. maybe as I’m getting older, I’m getting close to the sense of my own mortality! Ha!
