Marc Jacobs has launched Marc Jacobs Violet, a followup to 2012's Marc Jacobs Dot and 2013's Marc Jacobs Honey.
Violet is iridescence personified, a sparkling illusion with a touch of whimsy. This limited edition fragrance is a fashion inspired, straight from the runway accessory with an addictive scent. The juice opens to reveal a creamy bouquet of luxurious white florals and violet notes supported by the warm sensuality of vanilla, woods and musks.
The bottle is a shimmering, iridescent package with a pearlescent cap and butterflies with translucent purple wings. Inspired by trend, Violet is the perfect accessory for the season.
The notes include bergamot, green apple, kumquat, white lily, jasmine, magnolia, violet, vanilla, woods and skin musks.
Marc Jacobs Violet is a limited edition. It is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $76.

Wow, I absolutely loathe that bottle..! 😀
Dot was not as cute as Daisy, and this is arguably not as cute as Dot. Not sure why it doesn’t work but agree it doesn’t. On the other hand, the first comment on FB was about the great bottle, so maybe it’s all just personal taste.
I thought it was pretty? So clearly I have bad taste. But I’m a sucker for iridescence. Anything that’s shiny, anything that glows in the dark or in black light. I’m a raven in human form.
Oh, you don’t have bad taste and I agree with you about the iridescence. But I would like the bottle more with just the iridescent bottle and the pearlescent cap, leaving off the “butterflies”.
And I was thinking maybe if the butterflies had opaque purple wings? Really, it’s shocking that Marc Jacobs has not yet come up with a system of personalized vinyl thingamabobs you can attach to the bottle of your choice.
The bottle skews a little too young for my tastes (would be perfect on a tween’s dresser), I like the purple iridescence, too. And that’s about it.
Yes, personal taste it is! And I do not usually like to leave such negative comments, but this bottle just hurt my eye so that I could not shut up 😀 Daisy on the other hand was so cute I was tempted by the bottle, if not by the juice.
I thought the bottle is kinda cute, in a purposeful imitation of childish incorrect proportions kind of way….
Oh, dear, I thought I was saying something positive…LOL. I am willing to sniff the juice, although I am concerned that apple and kumquat may sort of overwhelm the violet…
Ha, you couldn’t quite pull it off. Of the 3, I think Honey had the best bottle. The colors of Dot were too much for me.
Honestly, to my recollection, I really don’t think I have had a fragrance that had violet in it. Or, if it did, it wasn’t the dominant note and I didn’t know it. So, I really don’t know if I like violet. Can anyone tell me any fragrances that they know of where violet is the dominant note? And, I have never tried a Marc Jacob fragrance. I have seen the fig fragrance on a couple of sites, but never purchased it.
I would be shocked if this smelled much like violet so I would not worry about it. But you could try looking here:

Maybe try La Violette by AG. It’s a good violet imo. I doubt this will smell violetty at all…guessing more like apple, vanilla musk.
Thank you both 🙂
wish he’d give up the hideous bottle design but I don’t like the juice anyway so it doesn’t matter. Dream was a good bottle, sort of…not great on the juice. MJ is about as meh as Vera Wang. Just call me Negative Nancy. The original Daisy I like some..that’s positive.
