Lady Gaga Eau de Gaga ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 8 August 2014 25 Comments

Lady Gaga has confirmed on Twitter that she will launch Eau de Gaga, her second fragrance.

The unisex scent is reportedly "extremely sexy and arousing", a "very clean expensive scent", and features notes of lime, sparkling water and leather (per Lady Gaga, three things she uses every day).

An unconfirmed image of the bottle:

I will update with more details when I can.

Update: an "official" image from Lady Gaga at Instagram...

Another update: Eau de Gaga was developed by perfumer Ursula Wandel; notes for the woody floral citrus include violet, leather and lime. It is not clear if the fragrance will be distributed in the US. (via wwd)

    “clean expensive scent”

I can get a vat of clean for less than £20, so this is an automatic pass from me.

You may be able to get a vat of Eau de Gaga for less, eventually. We’ll see!

I admire Gaga, the artist but …sparkling water doesn’t smell of anything. Emperor? Clothes?

      In perfume it does, though!

There are too many fragrances with water notes for me to list them all…

I understand aquatic perfumes smelling of the sea or river water, but I probably misunderstood sparkling water to be sparkling mineral water…does that have an aroma in perfumery?

I see someone admires the Tom Ford Private Blend bottles.

MTE I bet it will smell like Tuscan Leather without the raspberry with some citruses

That photograph is of a Tom Ford bottle. So unless Gaga is doing a guest spot on a Ford label (which I think is actually an Estee Lauder brand), that is a VERY unconfirmed photo of the next Gaga bottle

If you look better you’ll see that it’s not a Tom Ford bottle. It’s a cheaper version of it

TFPB bottles have an ogee not a squared off finish and the metal plaque is less shoddily placed.

Judging from the bottle and the description, i guess that this will be like Neroli Portofino (which is the best example for me of a clean expensive scent)

Sounds like it will smell like someone spilled a margherita on a leather sofa.
I really like Gaga and am looking forward to her album with Tony Bennett. Her voice really suits jazz, believe it or not), but I wish she stopped making fragrance. She clearly hasn’t got a clue.

If that’s the real bottle and not a prototype the box will be red with a gold label.

“Sounds like it will smell like someone spilled a margherita on a leather sofa.”

That’s if you’re lucky..I don’t even expect that. I expect water with a hint of grapefruit, diet limeaide, some flower that’s supposed to be like a magnolia or lotus but isn’t, white musk…spilled on latex pants.

I don’t see how people are getting Tom Ford from that bottle. It looks JUST like Victoria Beckham’s Signature fragrance bottle dipped in black paint. They’re both made from the same fragrance house so maybe two birds?? Cutting costs from the last fragrance?

Two years ago, Lady Gaga’s debut fragrance Lady Gaga Fame surpassed all norms and standards in the fragrance industry with its innovative technology: the first ever black Eau de Parfum that sprays clear and becomes invisible once airborne. The results are as impressive as the innovation itself: Lady Gaga Fame is on its way to making fragrance history with the number of bottles sold worldwide, and the awards it has received across the globe. For her next fragrance adventure, Lady Gaga invites women and men everywhere to indulge in her daring new global release… Lady Gaga and Coty introduce EAU DE GAGA. Created with Gaga’s visionary fragrance powerhouse, Haus Laboratories, this exciting new scent captures the pure essence of Gaga. Dangerously daring, EAU DE GAGA represents the future of a scent that appeals to both men and women; nothing is off-limits. EAU DE GAGA is an enigmatic scent, fusing daringly diverse elements to create a beguiling allure. The fragrance is built around a beautiful heart of white violet, an intoxicating flower that fuses male and female attractions. To counterbalance this opulent woody-floral intensity, the scent opens with an invigorating burst of sparkling lime that exudes dynamic vibrancy. And it evolves into a sensual trail based on leather, adding a primal quality to the scent.  The striking EAU DE GAGA bottle mirrors the perfume by uniting masculine and feminine design aesthetics. Its stark lines and sleek black lacquered finish deliver a bold statement in simplicity. For an added touch of luxury, the front of the flacon is adorned with a silver name plate that is printed with the words “Paris – New York” and the number 001. The names of the two cities reflect Haus Laboratories’ global identity and the number 001 represents the beginning of a long story, one which is still to be continued. And for the most devoted Little Monsters, the Ultimate Masterpiece 75ml version comes in an elegant red folding jewelry box in which the bottle rests on a sumptuous black velvet. Like the campaign for Lady Gaga Fame, the EAU DE GAGA campaign was shot by Steven Klein and stars Gaga herself. EAU DE GAGA Eau de Parfum 15ml, 30ml, 50ml and 75ml will be available at retailers worldwide from September 2014.

It is the first time that I have actually registered her face. I only now realized that I was usually too distracted by a dress made of meat or some other extravagantly ridiculous outfit in the photos that I never ever noticed what does she even look like.

Cheapo Tom Ford bottle…inside, perhaps a cheapo, white musky, watered down Neroli Port, with probably no leather..perhaps a puff of white pleather..but not banking on it. Lol, what’s with her and Madonna having men carrry them and whatnot..oh brother.

Really didn’t like Fame, not expecting much..will probably see it at the Maxx for 10 bucks like Fame.

To me, sparkling water = mineral water, so perhaps there is a mineral note in the perfume? I doubt it, but it’s a tiny possibility. Anyhoo, the only note that appeals to me is the lime :-)

If you look at the bottle in the “OFFICIAL” Pic it looks NOTHING Like a Tom Ford PB Bottle. Not REMOTELY! And even the Unofficial Pic looked only passingly, in a drunken stupor, like a TFPB Bottle. “Fame” was actually a very nicely done fragrance with a gimmick. Did it set the World Ablaze with originality… Hardly, But that it didn’t smell like crap and was a more than pleasant scent, why be make it like it was a Catastrophe? This sounds Rather Nice, Not very Bloody Interesting, but if they can make it smell “Expensive” (Not Bloody Likely) it should be unobjectionable. I Like Gaga, but am growing less fond of her with each new gimmick, that this seems Gimmick-Less may mean that I shall once again be in the Gaga Fold.

P.S. The bottle looks FAR More Like a “By Kilian” Bottle than A Tom Ford PB Bottle, No?
