Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 2 April 2014 15 Comments

Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum

Guerlain will launch Terracotta Le Parfum, a new limited edition perfume for women, in May. The fragrance celebrates the 30th anniversary of the brand's Terracotta bronzing cosmetic products, and is described as 'the allure of the sun in a bottle'.

Terracotta Le Parfum was developed by Guerlain perfumer Thierry Wasser. Notes for the solar floral include bergamot, tiare flower, orange blossom, coconut, jasmine, ylang ylang, musk and vanilla.

Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum will be available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

I think it sounds great too…just hope it isn’t too close to Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess.

I have that similar worry too. But I hope not. I like Bronze Goddess but I find it translating a little too much of the “sweaty-salty skin”.

I had bad luck with BG also. I so wanted to love it but ended up giving it away. I have very GOOD luck with Guerlains, they just work on my skin so I will be looking for this one. The notes do sound summer perfect.

BG did not work for me, either, but weirdly I think I would’ve liked it if I got the salty-sweaty vibe. On me it just gets, oh, plasticky? It turns very harsh & artificial, which is a shame because the notes are my ideal. Really, I haven’t had luck with any EL scents.

Guerlains are hit-or-miss with me, so fingers crossed.

But not NEW new, right? My Terracotta fragrance (bought for me by my BF perhaps 11 years ago or so) was a major push into the perfume rabbit hole. I have been looking for a replacement for years – hope this is the same, or only slightly different formulation? Does anyone know?

So far as I know, it is new new, although they’ve done 3 or 4 fragrances for the Terracotta line in the past (with different names) and I think they’ve been at least similar…been some time now, I think the last was in 2009?

Adding…is yours the Voile d’Ete? If so, that one was carnation & sounds very different than this.

Yes, mine was the Voile d’Ete – delicious carnation, cream and leather.
    Tks!

Just wanted to say that this is one of my favourites too, and I wish it wasn’t discontinued. You have inspired me to wear it today!

Bronze Goddess never really caught my nose, but the notes in the Terracotta sounds exactly what I have been looking for.
