Update: see a review of Omnia Indian Garnet.
I realize Indian Garnet refers to a stone, but…. If you’re going to use the name, hire an Indian model.
It was inspired by Jaipur, I think, and that’s where they did the official press launch. But personally don’t see why you have to always have the ethnically appropriate model or the ethnically appropriate notes for a fragrance inspired by place…these things are all about fantasy anyway, right?
Fantasy, projection, imposition and a little exploitation on the side, lol!
Just kidding, by the way. I’m not at all invested in these kinds of cultural debates:)
Well, yes, that too 😉
The garnets I have seen are usually a dark red that leans brown, so I wonder if Indian garnets are a more orange variation?
Most garnets everywhere are dark red, but they do come in other colors including orange (and green).
I love the name of this, garnet is my birthstone, btw. Going to sniff for sure.
The notes sound promising, orange and osmanthus might be interesting.
I did like Omnia Coral a bit….we shall see.
