Donna Karan's DKNY range has launched Be Delicious City Blossom, a new trio of limited edition fragrances for women: Urban Violet, Rooftop Peony and Empire Apple. All are flankers to 2004's Be Delicious. Previous trios in this series include Sweet Delicious and Delicious Candy Apples.

Be Delicious City Blossom Urban Violet ~ warm fruity floral; "The urban dream opens with a fresh burst of Mandarin, combined with the lush vibrancy of Berries and Red Delicious Apple Blossom, for a breeze of sheer optimism and excitement. Dewy Rose Petals harmoniously blend with bright Freesia and delicate Violet transporting you to a heavenly escape. Warm sun-kissed Sandalwood wrapped in elegant Orris and hypnotic Musk create an intoxicating yet weightless sensuality."

Be Delicious City Blossom Rooftop Peony ~ fresh floral; "Inspired by a dreamy rooftop garden in the heart of New York City, this enchanting essence opens with an exhilarating blend of juicy Mandarin and Bergamot, infused with exquisite Pink Lady Apple Blossom and Cassis. The precious notes of Rose Absolute wrap themselves in a blend of velvety Peony and succulent Raspberry, for a touch of sweet indulgence. Nuances of creamy Sandalwood warm up whispers of sensual Amber and sweet Reseda to create a blissful feeling of endless pleasure."

Be Delicious City Blossom Empire Apple ~ fruity fresh; "The scent features an exclusive American Apple Accord with a sophisticated blend of exotic flowers and sensual woods."

Donna Karan Be Delicious City Blossom Urban Violet, Rooftop Peony and Empire Apple are available now at Boots in the UK, in 50 ml Eau de Toilette, £37.

Any suggestions for a really nice peony? It is why I think I liked the first hour of Pleasures.

Hope someone else will chime in since it’s not my favorite note…or might be a good question for tomorrow’s open thread poll! Here are our few reviews:

I liked Jo Malone’s Peony and Blush Suede! Ava-Luxe used to offer a peony fragrance, but I’m not sure whether she still does.

Would love to know too, especially if it’s a single note. I used to love Fresh’s Peony scent (back in the early 00’s they did a small single note range as well as all those other interesting scents that got discontinued. Grape and Vine, Jus, Mikado from the Fleurs de Chocolat range, Moroccan Mint Tea and China Green tea….wah).

This is probably so far out of the question I hesitate to mention it, but MDCI Rose de Siwa smells very much like my beloved Sarah Bernhardt peonies.

Think I also read a review of Penhaligon’s Peoneve that suggested it was pretty close to the real fresh thing.

I like Jo Malone’s as well. Another very nice peony perfume is Envy Me by Gucci. I think you can get it on some of the websites. Not sure it is readily available at stores anymore.

Are there really any colors that the DKNY apple bottle has not yet been made in?

How many Delicious apple-themed perfumes can DKNY release? Yawn-o-rama. Not a good one in the bushel.

These Be Delicious City Blossom fragrances sound at best generic and at worst, awful.
