Posted by Robin on 19 January 2012 30 Comments

Donna Karan DKNY Sweet Delicious Collection

Donna Karan will launch the DKNY Sweet Delicious Collection in February. The three new limited edition fragrances for women were inspired by cupcake flavors, and are flankers to 2004's Be Delicious. They follow (among others) the Delicious Candy Apples (and see more Delicious Candy Apples here).

Pink Macaroon (shown) ~ the notes include nectarine, kumquat, pomegranate, rose marzipan, rich woods, tonka bean and amber.

Creamy Meringue ~ featuring lemon cream, bergamot, crepe suzette accord, yellow freesia, plumeria, passion flower, cedarwood, white amber and musk.

Tart Key Lime ~ with notes of key lime pie accord, orange zest, bergamot, mandarin, neroli, basil, ginger and violet leaves.

DKNY Sweet Delicious Creamy Meringue, Pink Macaroon and Tart Key Lime will be be available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

You would have thought they’d have at least attempted to keep an element of apple-ness to the whole thing. The fact that they don’t makes it all the weirder for being in apple shaped bottles.

But I would not be at all surprised if they all have apple. Who knows.

It actually looks more like a breast implant to me. At least in this pink color.

Oh well. Another delicious flanker. I really like Be delicious EdP, my mum has a bottle and loves to wear it in winter. But neither flankers neither male series is not appealing to me. I had a small bottle of Red delicious for men and I’m very happy that it’s gone…

In general, I’m not enthralled with the DKNY line…but do like a number of Donna Karan fragrances.

The only one from DKNY is original, first be delicious. I used to wear red delicious for men and DKNY men (2009), but they were exhausting me, I’m glad than I finished these…

They might be aimed at women, but not at real women. Crepe suzette accord? The silliness never ends. At least its worth a good laugh!

I do like some gourmands myself, so can’t laugh at crepe suzette accord :-)

    Personally I’m waiting for a bottle IHOP’S banana chocolate chip pancake extrait. . . . I’m sorry, I couldn’t stop myself . . . really.

Hollyc, that actually isn’t a bad idea if it keeps me from indulging those pesky PMS cravings every month. I can just sniff my wrist and back away from the ice cream. ;)

I believe the IHOP one will be called Be Delicious Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity.

We’re a giddy bunch today!! Even if this isn’t something we’d wear, it’s proven to be lots of fun and isn’t that what it’s all about?

The original Candy Apple flankers seem rather hard to find. I always found something strangely sour in the original Be Delicious and hoped a sweet note would calm it. These sound interesting for my inner gourmand lover. I will confess to a desire to try them. ;)

The green Candy Apple Be Delicious (Caramel Apple) is like you said, less sour and sweet in a low-pitched, caramel sort of way. It is worth hunting for in my opinion if you liked Be Delicious but found it tart.

I do like the green apple one from this line, and I sniff it often whenever I’m in department stores. But I figured it would get boring fast if you wore it, so I was never tempted to buy it.

The macaroon seems worth sampling to me.

These just seem to get more and more sharp — first apple, then candy apple, then fresh blossom and now lemon-chiffony. Seems like they are evolving toward the standard sweet fruity floral clone.

There are notes in all of these that intrigue me – marzipan, lemon cream, and key lime pie. So, I will definitely try to sample them, but my hopes are not high.

The Key Lime one intrigues me – I’m always on the lookout for a decent summer citrus.

I really haven’t dug on the whole DKNY line..I did put on the Fresh Blossom the other day at the store..that one was alright. But ya, more and more apples.
What’s next? Blueberry Muffin accord? Strawberry Shortcake Doll accord?
I personally want a Dunkin Donuts buttermilk donut accord..or a Dark Chocolate Mounds bar accord..or heck, a Rice Krispy treat accord…why not?

Now that powdered blueberry donut they had at Krispy Kreme was like really good..or that chocolate cake one..ya..if there were those accords..I would have to sniff, lol.

Top Notes: Blueberries, Black Currant, Powdered Sugar
Middle Notes: Chocolate glaze, pink violet, baked dough accord, Boston Cream Pie accord, Himalayan Coconut Nectar
        Base: Vanilla, Amber, Musk

I think the green (Tart Key Lime) is nice, and I really liked the yellow (Creamy Meringue). The pink one is boring.
