Tom Ford Tobacco Oud & Oud Fleur ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 17 October 2013 13 Comments

Tom Ford Tobacco Oud & Oud Fleur

Tom Ford has launched Tobacco Oud and Oud Fleur, two new unisex additions to the Tom Ford Private Blend range. The original Oud Wood Private Blend fragrance has been repackaged in the same grey bottles shown above.

Tobacco Oud ~ "The regal, rich scent of Tobacco Oud eau de parfum by Tom Ford features a blend of oud wood resin, smoking aromatic tobacco and an idealized Arabic tobacco."

Oud Fleur ~ "The noble, luxurious scent of Oud Fleur eau de parfum by Tom Ford features a blend of oud wood and rosewood for a vibrant, unforgettable fragrance."

Tom Ford Tobacco Oud and Oud Fleur can be found now at Nordstrom, 50 ($210) or 250 ($520) ml Eau de Parfum.

No way, more oud? I wouldn’t have guessed. I like tobacco though..maybe worth a sniff I suppose.

Tried both of these last week & sooo disappointed especially in the Tobacco Oud. After 5 minutes on my skin Oud Fleur turns into TF Cafe Rose (With a hint of Kilian Rose Oud) ! Tobacco Oud on me is a total clone of the discontinued Amber Absolute – had expected a mix of the Oud Wood / Tobacco Vanille but dont get any tobacco at all in this one !

I admit I have very little interest in the Private Blend range…almost all of them have disappointed me, and the prices are crazy. I do like Oud Wood though.

It’s a great scent! And if the new soap & shower gel weren’t so pricey, I’d want them…

Smells like Amber Absolute huh? I have been wanting to try that one. I liked Purple Patchouli…I so wish that would come back. I do like Noir de Noir too:D. Not real luck with other TF’s I’ve tried. Do want to try that Plum one that came out. Have not sniffed Oud Wood.

The Plum – Plum Japonias is good but it really does smell like Sergie’s Feminite du Bois to me .
I like the new grey flacons but more Oud ! Arrgggghhhh – help me !
I think I really hate oud now except for Mona di Orio’s Oud.

Yeesh, this line is so expensive! Tom Ford Noir is so good and incense woodsy, much better price point too.

I generally like the signature line better too.

So, for how long now has Oud been passé? Seems like since I started reading here (about 3 years ago), it was already old news.

I started using the tag in late 2011, and obviously I was already exasperated by then. So guessing 2009, 2010?

The Oud Tobacco smells like oud and tobacco for the first 30 minutes, then dries down into Amber Absolu. The Oud Fleur smells like your basic rose oud for the first 30 minutes then dries down into a generic plasticky floral. I would wear the Tobaco Oud but not the Fleur… But I’m not sure I can take anymore oud.
