Selena Gomez Vivamore ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 19 June 2013 10 Comments

Selena Gomez Vivamore

Selena Gomez has launched Vivamore, her second fragrance (the first was Selena Gomez Eau de Parfum):

A new fragrance for women by Selena Gomez. An effervescent, intoxicatingly floral fragrance that embodies the philosophy to live life and love more. The vibrant, cheerful freshness of watery melon, white tea, and pink lemonade draws you in to reveal an unexpected heart of timeless sophistication. The exquisite calla lily is beautifully sweet yet majestically refined, creating an exotic yet elegant signature. Tahitian vanilla and caramelized sugar add a touch of indulgence to this scintillating, uplifting creation for a fragrance that celebrates life and love.

Selena Gomez Vivamore can be found now at Macy's, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I was going to compliment that calla-lillyish bottle until I started reading.

This “intoxicatingly floral fragrance” supposedly has “watery melon” as its first listed note. Is this the scent of watermelon, (in which case, the copy writer should be required to finish junior high), or is the most important aspect of this scent its wateriness?
The “watery melon” is followed by “white tea, and pink lemonade,” more bland liquid smells. Only afterwords does one find calla lily, quickly followed by vanilla and caramelized sugar (also known as “caramel” which is created by melting sugar).
This sounds like the juice is intended to a junior version of Prada Candy, (Did I just write a “junior version of Prada Candy?). And surely there is nothing wrong in offering young purchasers a summer fair scent of a fragrance.
Otherwise, it is a little hard to figure out how a bit calla lily can transform all those sugary, watery, candyish notes to create an “intoxicatingly floral” fragrance.

LOL…I honestly hated the 1st one so much I hardly read the description of this one. Not likely I will try it. There are (probably, I admit I’m not smelling it!) FAR better junior versions of Prada Candy 🙂

      Nice dissection!

I think watery melon = Calone.

I was thinking this sounds like Truth or Dare light. With pink lemonade. Which makes no sense.

Darn those stupid lips again..I, I hate this like a hate song baaaybee..beep beep beep beep beep..that song of hers.
    Such a lame bottle design.

But watermelon AND sophisticated pink lemonade? The timelessness and sophistication allures me, I may sniff, lol.

To me sophisticated pink lemonade has vodka in it. LOL

(But then vodka doesn’t smell does it?)

Hmmm. Wonder how long this will last as the company is suing Selena and she is counter suing

Gosh, I had no idea. (Someone is probably going to have make arrangements to bring bottles of potentiallly flameable material past court security).
P.S., I thought Prada Candy was already intended for the junior market, sophisticated juniors, but still folks who want to smell like caramels. Is their a younger version of wanting to smell like a caramel?

Wow. I’m suprised they kept the bizarre bottle design. Hopefully it is better than the last one.
