Giorgio Armani Si ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 30 May 2013 18 Comments

Giorgio Armani Si

Giorgio Armani will launch Sì, a new fragrance for women, in September. Si will be fronted by actress Cate Blanchett.

Sì was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel; notes for the chypre fragrance include cassis nectar, chypre accord, musky wood, vanilla, rose de mai, freesia, patchouli, Jungle Essence and orcanox (ambroxan).

Notes for the woody floral include mint, lemon, aquatic notes, jasmine, brown sugar and cedar. Note: those are in fact the notes for Acqua di Gioia Essenza, so I'm pretty sure the source (see link below) is wrong. I'll update when I can find the right notes!

I will update with sizes and concentration when I can.

Giorgio Armani Sì will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Update: see a review of Giorgio Armani Sì.

Probably going to be my reaction too, but I’ll give it a shot.

Did they just intensify the woody-floral and tone down the aquatic from Acqua di Gioia Essenza and launch it as a completely new fragrance? Just another flanker in disguise?

You gotta wonder why they needed another aquatic, right?

Maybe they’ll turn out to be wrong…it really does seem odd. I will see what I can find.

I’d say this is a major “oops” — pretty sure those are NOT the notes.

It’s not a flanker, it’s a new launch. Beautiful bottle, not to fond about the name though.

If I ever design a fragrance (unlikely), I will name it “New Perfume” so that people coming to the fragrance counter askin for “that new perfume” will walk away with mine. I wonder why no one has thought about this before? Because every house works hard to develop original and descriptive names? Naw, that couldn’t be it…

I would just go the lazy route. Kate Reed presents…a chypre with a plum blossom note.

Saw a post on another website that has notes: blackcurrant, vanilla, patchouli and light wood. Who knows if this is correct either?

      It is Mane’s headspace tool:

      http://www.mane.com/jungle-essence

Not sure why it is listed here as a note, guess it is just a mistake or they’ve left out some specifier.
