Vera Wang Pink Princess ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 23 April 2013 23 Comments

Vera Wang Pink Princess

Vera Wang has launched Pink Princess, the latest (the sixth, I think) flanker to 2006′s Vera Wang Princess.

With vivacious energy and girly style, the princess charms with just one wink and of course a smile.

The notes for the fruity floral fragrance feature raspberry sorbet, pink grapefruit, honeysuckle, pink hibiscus, white amber and marshmallow fluff.

Vera Wang Pink Princess can be found now at The Perfume Shop or The Fragrance Shop in the UK, in 30 or 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Maybe I’m off base, but this sounds pink. Very pink.

Of course, they were pretty much all pink. But this one might turn out to be more so.

I’v been searching all my life for a perfume with a ‘marshmallow fluff’ note! So many have marshmallow but few capture the real fluff aspect of it.

Honestly, they really need to rename the marshmallow fluff note. Can you imagine a sophisticated lady leaning down towards you, inhaling and then asking “oh my, what’s the distant note of that perfume you’re wearing? it’s rather sweet, I dare say.” and how on earth would you, with a straight face, respond with “oh that? oh, it’s the finest marshmallow fluff.”
I really hate to judge people on their choice of fragrance, but for heaven’s sake, at least make it sound good!

Well, in all fairness, it isn’t geared towards sophisticated ladies — it’s geared towards tweens.

I agree with that, only I would add that by including Marshmallow Fluff (rather than, say, marshmallow puff) they are making an effort to refine the taste of said tweens.

Also, I think the ability to discern marshmallow fluff from marshmallow puff already presupposes a certain sophistication in the target market.

In fact marshmallow fluff may scare some youngsters off as being reminiscent of ‘old-lady perfume’…

Puffs would have been a far more commercial decision.

Thank you, Merlin, for pointing out this highly important distinction! I think it is also important to distinguish between marshmallow fluff and traditional marshmallow! To me, marshmallow is an especially “vintage” sort of note, used only in the finest fragrances! 😉

Hopefully nobody decides to market a Fluffernutter accord.

Sounds like a new Jo Malone layering set! Fragrances in Marshmallow Fluff, Crunchy Peanut Butter, Wonder bread, and Nutella!

Something else I have been looking for all my life!

So that is interesting. You folks choked on the fluff, but I’m trying to figure out whether “girly style” is pejorative, or some k-pop code for gangnam style done in pink!

Shouldn’t it be pink amber and pink marshmallow fluff?

Hmmmm…..I like the original Princess, but the only place I like marshmallow is in Soap and Glory’s Hand Food hand cream. I agree naming marshmallow fluff as a note certainly shows the scent’s targeted demographic!

Make it stop, lol. VW Princess line..is the worst on me.
The notes made me lol..I am tired of Jelly Belly perfumes…marshmallow fluff? Are they even trying anymore?
Lol, Robin..I don’t see how it could be pinker. Unless there was a Hubba Bubba gum accord…don’t want to give them any ideas.

These fluff comments made me laugh! I do lovee this perfume though, its so sweet and girly its perfect for daytime! The only thing I don’t like about VW’s perfumes are there lack of staying power. Its the same with Lovestruck (which again, is so girly and I love). I feel like I should keep spraying every hour!

So Princess Power pics have been showing up online and on instagram. No clue if it’s the real deal, but I kind of want it to be because I like everything about the name and packaging. Hahaha! I’m bad. ^_^
