It is a hoot – Prada does decent commercials.

Those commercial movies by Prada are quite entertaining, aren’t they?

Ok I thought the commercials were cute and different which is rare with fragrance commercials.
    Questions:
Does anyone think the girl looks like a blond version of that actress who plays that sour character from Parks and recreation?
Why do the guys look alike? And what’s going on with their hair?
Is it the first fragrance commercial that shows somebody eating?
Why is the commercial in French? Isn’t Prada Italian???
    Gosh, I need an Aspirin….

Your last question was the one I was most curious about myself- I think that Candy is French and the men are Italian, as evidenced by the fact that one of them asks what the French word for banana split is.

French because it’s in the Nouvelle Vague style, no?

Because French is the lingua franca of perfume?

It is not just that the guys look alike, it is that they look like Wes Anderson types, in the same way that Ben Stiller, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartman & Luke Wilson all look sort of alike in Wes Anderson movies but not necessarily in real life. And that is very Wes Anderson hair too. (IMHO, obviously)

I love them. Best not taken too seriously! There is a Francoise Sagan feel to them, except with the welcome addition of a sense of humour.

Now if only they actually made a Prada Candy Banana Split flanker. That one I would buy!

I like the way her final walk is so masculine-triumphant, and the way the theme replays whenever there is a tactical success – like her hair coming out well!

It makes me sorry all over again that I cant wear bangs as my hair is too curly. Then again, I guess if I had the patience to sit under one of those helmut machines then all things would be possible…

I love the way it is said that all men are children when its a woman’s perfume that is being called candy!

Loved her lipstick and nail polish! How can I find out what she’s which lipstick and polish she is wearing?

    So charming! Very Wes Anderson.

I’m not sure Tara but I have a Chanel Rouge Coco called Rose Comete that looks quite similar. 🙂
