This ad has no pleats. Or is the textured fabric a very liberal interpretation of pleats? I guess if they were wearing pleats, they wouldn’t be asking for pleats. Maybe these women will run into some other women wearing pleats who are asking for drapery, please! And then they can exchange clothes.

On a different note, could this be a bottle with a flower on top that actually looks *gasp!* really good?

The fabric is done with a very narrow pleat, that is what gives it that movement — but it is hard to see at that distance!

Oh, duh. 1990s Issey Miyake collection. Yes I see it now that I’m not on a phone screen. Let’s forget I wrote this little comment! Altho (regular-type) pleats are so big in fashion right now. Guess I wanted to see some big ol’ pleats.

Does make you wonder why the bottle isn’t designed along the lines of the fabric.

No, you have a point. A lot of people would be looking at it on a phone screen.

The Issey Miyake pleats are known to be very fine and ethereal.
This is causing a major problem for me personally when it comes to this new fragrance.
This bottle, which is supposed to be inspired by his innovative designs, is so damn ugly!

Looks like the bottle is a love it or hate it.

It just looks like a squished Chinese food takeout container that got attached to a piece of styrofoam from the rest of the trash. Too bad because Issey Miyake’s portfolio has come out with beautiful bottles in the past. It’s a definite “hate it” for me Robin.

LOL! I’m in the love it camp, but haven’t seen it in person. Sometimes the caps are done in such cheap plastic that it ruins a bottle for me…hard to tell from photos.

Can you say PLEATS PLEASE 5 times in a row? I’m just trying to imagine those pretty young French people spraying it on customers walking into Sephora Champs Elysees and saying its name.
Plits Plizz Plits Plizz Plits Plizz
    Tsss Tsss it’s all wrong!
    One word: Doomed…

Pleats Please is the name one of IM’s ready-to-wear brands. Issey Miyaki releasing a Pleats Please fragrance under the Pleats Please brand wouldn’t really be different Prada releasing a Miu Miu perfume (assuming they did!). I believe the fragrance is being launched to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pleats Please brand. I do sound like their PR rep now, don’t I? lol

I like that they’re not afraid to go really “90s” on this ad… the fragrance and the bottle however will probably not leave a lasting impression

Ok, definitely loving the bottle after watching this. I just might have to get a 30 ml if they make one. Love, love, love it : )
