A cursory smell session at Macy’s suggests the younger the celebrity and the cuter her image, the more sugary the scent. Katy Perry has described her second scent, Meow!, as “very sweet” and “inspired by that magical place, Candyfornia!” Selena Gomez launched a scent this summer so cloying it could be called Eau de Grape Slushie.

I think a little part of my soul died when I read “Candyfornia.”
LOL…it’s a state at Macy’s, easily avoided.
Odd not to have metioned Elizabeth Taylor/ She may not have been the first celebrity to transfer fame to perfume marketing*, but she certainly founded a mini-empire at Elizabeth Arden, which markets many of the re-curring celb lines.
True!
Grape is probably one of the most disgusting smells in the world. It reminds me the grape flavored medicine I had to drink when I was sick as a child. Yuck!
I don’t mind the smell, but not in my perfume…
I loooove the smell of grape as I’ve found almost all good tuberoses smell grapey. Sometimes people say L’artisan tubereuse smells like cough syrup, other times that tuberose enfleurage smells like medicinal grape candy. Yummm!
Maybe if I think of grapes I would prefer the smell of tuberose!
After hearing ‘Someday’ described as wax crayons mixed with bubblegum I actually want to try it. I found encens & bubblegum revolting though so I wont get my hopes up too much.
I looked up images of ‘girlfriend’ and was a bit disappointed that the bottle didn’t look MORE like a vibrator in a unicorn’s rib-cage. Well, then again…
hahaha! your description made me look it up to. so accurate!
The article described it that way: )
