Valentino Valentina Assoluto ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 3 July 2012 10 Comments

Valentino Valentina Assoluto perfume bottle

Valentino will launch Valentina Assoluto, a new "deeper, more sensual" chypre variation on 2011's Valentina, in July. Look for it in the US in April of 2013.

Valentina Assoluto was developed by perfumer Olivier Cresp; notes feature bergamot, white truffle, peach, jasmine, tuberose, vanilla, cedar, oakmoss, patchouli and chypre.

Valentino Valentina Assoluto will be available in 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum.

Hi everyone! I’m in Tokyo right now and so glad to have discovered free BT FON Wifi. It’s so hot and humid here and feels as if I’m in a hammam! But the humid weather is great for hydrangeas, which are in full bloom. Not long before I get to enjoy the gardenias in my mum’s garden.

Valentina Assoluto sounds positively interesting. I’ve not tried the original Valentina, but I’m liking the sound of the notes. White truffles; I think black truffle is one of the notes in Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, which I love, so I am very keen to give this one a try.

OT: found a vintage bottle of Shiseido Zen in my mum’s wardrobe. I think it’s from the early 70s. Mum and I had fun rummaging through her old perfume bottles and solid perfume cases. We found vintage Chanel No5 & No19, Jean Patou Joy and YSL Opium as well. The Chanel No.5 is from the late 50s! None of them have any juice left but the bottles are so beautiful.

Have fun in Tokyo! It seems like it is hot everywhere right now.

This one sounds much more interesting than the original Valentina.

And congrats on the Zen! I think you can still buy the original in Japan too, should you fall in love with it.

Yes, I found a Shiseido store nearby and they have it! It is also sold at about $15 online as well. I am also told that one could find the vintage Murasaki online at reasonable prices in Japan.

This looks like it may be one of those rare flakers that may actually be better than the original. The notes of this sound quite interesting, and they got rid of that icky strawberry note in the original.

Looking for this as soon as it comes out… Truffle, yum.

When is it expected in Europe, do you know?

this is really quite good! I might even have to put this on my list! God, I am so chypre! I am not getting the vanilla or peach at all but luscious tuberose and jasmine with a nice oakmoss and patchouli coming underneath like a wisp of smoke on a Summer evening…yum!
