I don’t love Violet Blonde but it was rather nice and I do love Tom Ford so congrats! Guilty was most definitely not a favorite of mine. I would have chosen the Intense over the original if I had to. Oh well. I NEED to try that Jasmin Rouge! So glad Candy won something! I would have definitely chose it over Violet Blonde for Women’s Luxe. But hey, what do I know? Haha! : )
I liked Violet Blonde ok, but it wasn’t as good as some others on the list. Jasmin Rouge was ok…but the list of finalists in the NN category this time was weak. Tom Ford sure has reason to celebrate today!
Really Wish Bottega Veneta had won Instead of Violet Blonde…. VB is BEAUTIFUL… But BV Is SUBLIME!!!!!!!!!!!!
HA…I keep telling you, it’s not just about the juice anyway! The one award meant to recognize a stellar juice is the Perfume Extraordinaire award, and that went to Bond no. 9 New York Oud. Here is their explanation of the award:
“The Perfume Extraordinaire of the Year award recognizes the actual “juice” of a fine fragrance, an extraordinary olfactive creation launched within the award year. This FiFi award is about craftsmanship and measures the aesthetic beauty of the fragrance identified by its design, signature, creativity and quality. It not only recognizes the Essential Oil Company but also the perfumer(s), who as olfactive visionaries inspire us most when their creations move the market forward.”
Well… What I meant more was I LIKE BOTTEGA Better. Not that it IS a better fragrance than VIOLET… Any way, How can there be any one of us, Including the People at the Fifi’s or anywhere else to say which is BETTER than another… Tastes as well as Scents are Subjective… My Father LOATHES the Smell of Pineapple, Vanilla and cannot STAND to hold a Peach because it’s fuzzy… I On the other hand DIE For the smell of Pineapple and Vanilla makes me go to H-E-A-V-E-N!!!! AND… I also love the Velvety-Suedelike feel of Peaches…. So again… what we may perceive as something unpleasant and Disagreeable… Even, Shall i say, CHEAP, some one else out there is going to piss their pants in delight over it… It completely Negates the Argument over, Good, Better, Best! Some People Love Thierry Mugler Angel, Some think it a work of Lucifer! Some Love Serge Lutens, Some think the man is outright MAD!
Some Love Gucci Guilty Pour Homme, Some Don’t… Neither of those people are wrong, Just Different!
I protest in the name of Bottega Veneta. It deserved to win.
Sorry!
If Gucci Guilty is considered ‘luxe’ (whatever that means) then you can knock me over with a feather!
It simply means a prestige (in other words, not mass market) scent sold in 26 to 249 doors, nothing more.
I love just love Tom Ford’s Jasmin Rouge… Not too sure about Gucci Guilty though
