Thierry Mugler Womanity Eau Pour Elles ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 10 January 2012 20 Comments

Thierry Mugler Womanity Eau Pour Elles

Thierry Mugler will launch Womanity Eau Pour Elles in May. The new fragrance for women is a flanker to 2010's Womanity, and is said to be a sparkling, fruity and playful version of the original.

Womanity Eau Pour Elles was developed by perfumers Christine Nagel and Serge Majoulier; the notes inclue strawberry, white fig and caviar.

Thierry Mugler Womanity Eau Pour Elles will be available in 50 and 80 ml Eau de Toilette and in an 80 ml refill.

I’m having a hard time imagining this “in my mind’s nose.” I am not a fan of the original Womanity; actually, I liked it for about 10 minutes, but then I was left with that salty, briney, cavier note, and I found it harsh and distracting and unpleasant. Mix that with the usual pink berry fruity floral, and I’m not feeling it.

Womanity is really intriguing by its freakness (IMO, like Marilyn Manson). But as a salty-fig I stay with Un Jardin En Méditerranée. The original Womanity has some kind of “sweat-socks-smell”.

LOL at “intriguing freakness (like Marilyn Manson)” !! You’re right. I think that is what I liked for the first 10 minutes–I admired the risk, but after that, I didn’t find it pleasant enough to want to wear it.

To my nose, there was already lots of red berry in the opening. I’m sort of assuming they’ve amped that up, and possibly tamped down some of the other notes?

Oh yes, he presumably discovered that back in 92 :-)

Yeah, but at that time he walked by cart and now he walks by Ferraris through the way. ;)

Does this mean there will be a Thierry Mugler Womanity Eau Pour Hommes?

From the few I know about French, the word “elle” in french means “she”.

When I glanced at the bottle, it appeared to be the face of some royal figure wearing some type of elaborate headpiece and long robes. It rather made me think of a chess piece, actually.

I look forward to trying this, the Mugler flankers generally tend to be quite good. It won’t be better than Womanity Le Goût du Parfum though, that was brilliant and should have been the original.

Why strawberry? Really? Hahahaa. The limited edition with fig chutney was a good start…..but to my nose they really need to add a milky note to this edp. It’s SO sharp, like nose piercing sharp. I do like the body milk- it’s tempered a bit there, but all in all it’s not too well received where I work. Even heavy smoker perfumeheads that wear everything cannot wear this. I want it to be brilliant because I love fig and I love wood, and I really love beachy scents, So, I guess we shall see……? ; )

Wasn’t the original “sparkling, fruity and playful” enough? I can’t imagine how much more sparkle, fruit, and playfulness can be stuffed into the Womanity formula. This just sounds like it’ll be shriekier and less interesting, but who knows.

Hmmmm, never knew there’d been a limited ed for this! I love the original but this sounds..well, like every other fruity release out there. I’m pretty surprised actually.

I’d love to see a Womanity pour Homme :P

The name is obviously redundant. Would a men’s version be just “Humanity” or is that too close to an aquatic mammal that lives in Florida? Why can’t fragrances just be unisex?

Robin, did you get a chance to try this yet? So what do you think? Also did you try the body lotion and the body cream? What are your opinions on them? Waiting to hear from you….Thanks!

I’m sorry, no — I’m terribly behind this year! I may or may not get to it, hard to say.
