It’s going to be something that I like

Posted by Robin on 30 September 2011 12 Comments

My fans can go to selenagomezperfumes.com and see all the ingredients — the top ingredient, the middle ingredient, and a base,” she said. “I want the base to be rich — I like vanilla and maybe some chocolate. For the middle, I’ve smelled raw grapefruit and peach, and the top note’s definitely going to be fruity. I’m going to put up all the [notes] I like and let my fans pick which ones they want to put together. So, it’s going to be something that I like, regardless.

— Selena Gomez plans to let her fans design her new perfume. Quote via Women's Wear Daily.

This truly made me laugh just now. First thing I read after logging on at work.

It occurred to me later that you could do this easily enough even if the fragrance was already developed.

My first thought, was that it sounds like someone trying to build a sundae instead of a perfume.

When I was a kid, I’d have “ice cream parties” when several ice cream flavors, and lots of topping choices would be set out for everyone to build their own. Maybe this is what Ms. Gomez (or her marketers) want their fans to believe their doing.
Obviously they don’t think the fans are capable of choosing structural fragrance elements or non -food related notes. (Patchoulli, anyone?)

She looks even younger. Like a little doll.

a fruity gourmand. if it’s made well, it could turn out delicious. and maybe she can also have her own dessert, like her boyfriend.

What a hilarious juxtaposition with the Dita von Teese post.
