Histoires de Parfums Petroleum, Ambrarem & Rosam ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 9 September 2011 22 Comments

Histoires de Parfums Petroleum, Ambrarem & Rosam

French niche line Histoires de Parfums will follow up on their 2009 tuberose trilogy with a new trio based on oud: Pétroleum (mineral), Ambrarem (animal) and Rosam (vegetable).

Pétroleum ~ An intense fragrance with resinous wood accents, leather and civet. Notes include oud, bergamot, aldehydes, rose, amber, civet absolute, leather, patchouli and white musk.

Ambrarem ~ An expression of desire and passion with marine, animalic and floral accents. The notes feature pink pepper, elemi, iris, oud, saffron, castoreum, bourbon vanilla, sandalwood and amber.

Rosam ~ A decadent ode to rose, with rose, lemon, saffron, frankincense, amber, sandalwood, patchouli and oud.

Histoires de Parfums Pétroleum, Ambrarem and Rosam will be available in 60 ml Absolu de Parfum (18% concentration).

Wow–I swear I’ve never seen civet listed in the notes of a modern realease. I’m definitely intrigued!

Don’t know if it’s real civet or not. I do see it listed, but not that often.

I love this line for its 14 ml bottles, which I can buy with wild abandon without feeling guilty that I’ve got too many because, well, they’re not really FBs now, are they ;)

Despite how much oud there is on the market these days, I’m really looking forwards to trying these – Histoires is one of my favorite lines.

Please do tell where you get these 14 ml bottles! I would love to get a few but have been holding out since I don’t want to make that big of an investment, but this is one of my favorite lines! That size would be perfect!

I believe you can buy them from ThePerfumeShoppe dot com, for $30. :)

Those travel bottles really are great. Did they do the tuberose trio in small sizes?

They did – they’re available here in Europe, so probably in the US too.

This sounds like the constituents of Terre d’hermes.

The Petroleum is calling my name. I’m going to ignore it and pretend I don’t know it. But it does sound good.

Petroleum sounds like Olivier Dourbano’s Black tourmaline.

That’s the one that’s calling me too, until I got the the aldehydes part. I seem better able to tolerate them after chemo (weird) but still can’t wear them for long periods of time. I really want a rubber/gasoline scent and the name is so promising…

Love this line and these sound great! I wonder what kind of a look I would get if someone asked me what perfume I was wearing and I said “Petroleum?” :-)
