Kim Kardashian Love ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 3 August 2011 35 Comments

Kim Kardashian Love

Kim Kardashian will launch her third fragrance for women, Kim Kardashian Love, this month. The limited edition fragrance was reportedly created for Kardashian's upcoming wedding, and follows Kim Kardashian by Kim Kardashian and Kim Kardashian Gold.

A captivating aroma, evocative of endless love. There's nothing more powerful than two souls united by the passion, beauty and trust they find in one another. Inspired by the intoxicating sensation of true, eternal love, Kim Kardashian presents a limited edition fragrance—Love by Kim Kardashian. The soft, feminine scent opens with top notes of sparkling red currant, pink freesia and star jasmine. A heart of French mimosa, rare Egyptian tuberose, and rose absolute orpur eases into a rich background of sensual musk, creamy sandalwood, and orris butter.

1000 bottles were produced; according to Kim Kardashian, 1 is for her wedding day, 200 are for her bridal shower and 799 will be sold.

Kim Kardashian Love is $100 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be pre-ordered now (if it is not already sold out) at Kardashian Fragrance.

interesting. I haven’t smelled Gold, but I thought her first one was pretty decent as celebrity fragrances go. The higher price point/limited edition status might bode well too…. or not. The notes in this one sound appealing to me at least. But I’m not going to pre-order something online unsniffed.

It was decent. Have a feeling this one will sell out before anyone can think about what it might smell like.

I will bravely attempt to overcome my general disdain for “all things Kardashian” fpr just a moment here ….I’ve heard the tuberose one (Kardashian?) is kind of nice. I’ve yet to sniff it….BUT even if I liked it and felt the need to have a bottle….sorry, I’ll just admit my failings here: I would NOT admit to any casual complimentors what it was!!!

Admittedly, it is hard for me to imagine that anyone has aspirational leanings towards KK’s lifestyle. But I’ve been surprised before :-)

I have a terrible attitude about celebri-scents….it’s true, can’t seem to help it.
But , at least around this group, if I sniffed it , I’d give an honest evaluation (even if it causes massive brain-cramps)

So this means that if she ends up divorced….that every time she gets married again, she can have a new wedding perfume….flankers if you will.
    Kim Kardashian Love, again
and I’ll refrain from pre-naming the entire line.

If your idea about divorce and re-marriage happens and she steals “Falling in Love Again” from Marlene, I would have to throttle her and destroy all bottles.

Daisy, you crack me up! I must confess I have a similar aversion to celebrity scents too. There are a handful of decent ones out there but if I don’t like the celeb I just can’t bring myself to purchase them.

I really don’t have a problem with her, but I’ve never watched the show. (I don’t have a problem with Paris Hilton either, dunno why.)

I TOTALLY missed that there was a “Gold”… it seems like the original KK was merely 12 months ago. Geez…. fast and furious.

More power to her entrepreneurial efforts, and if they smell decent: bonus. I haven’t smelled KK, but as I said, if it’s the gateway drug for budding perfumistas to appreciate big white florals, I’m all for it.

I never saw Gold — wonder if it was only sold at her online store? Or I just missed it, dunno.

No it’s at Macys. I saw it like 2 wks ago. It was fine. I like the original more. Gold reminds me of Glow After Dark. I don’t know if you’ll care for it much Robin. Haha. : )

I stand corrected — thanks so much! (and I was just at Macy’s, so I’m just unobservant)

I like Glow After Dark so if I ever see Gold I’ll give it a try.

I love all the marketing hype around celebrity perfumes. KK has a winner here – no try before you buy.

          “Glow After Dark”.

That sounds like a nuclear reactor accident.

I wish I’d never watched Kim’s show. In interviews, she comes across as reasonably bright and savvy. On the show, she is insufferable.

Good point, Ari! I actually liked her before she and her family got that show on E! (damn, you Ryan Seacrest!). I watched bits of the first season, but if I tried to watcha whole show I got a headache afterwards. Most reality shows do this to me.

Any guesses what the wedding night fragrance will be called based on the bachelorette party?

As the bride wouldn’t you want your fragrance to be unique on your special day?

I neither like nor dislike her and I hope for her sake that this marriage goes better then her first one, but, call me a cynic, I doubt it as it seems to be based around TV ratings and flogging magazine pictures/interviews, $100 perfumes etc, rather then ‘eternal love’…

I always forget she had that first marriage! I’m actually a Kardashian fan, but this just screams “stunt” to me. I honestly can’t believe that she would spend the rest of her life with a relatively unknown athlete.

Here is how KK refers to herself @ Twitter [she showed up on my ‘who you should follow’ list: ‘business woman, exec producer, fashion designer, perfumista’. I was appalled when I read that she considers herself to be a perfumista. But you know, could be I was just being snobby and skeptical because she does bug the crap outta me. Her first fragrance did smell nice compared to others out there and the list of notes here in this new one is surprising [to me, anyway]. Orris butter? Really?! Maybe she really does have an appreciation for the art of fragrance. Maybe she’s in it for that reason as well as the big bucks. Who knows?

Ugh… I’ll be passing on this one. I didn’t care for the first of her line and, even though I know you’re paying for the juice, not the name stamped on the bottle, I cannot bring myself to pay money for anything with the name of this self centered brat on it.

“Perfumista” isn’t a well-knowned term, is it? Maybe she reads this blog?

I doubt the orris butter is real. It’s more expensive than gold.

My thought too, about the orris. And yet did I read somewhere that someone has developed a much speedier way of producing orris butter?

Maybe it’s just the edition in the fancy bottle that’s LE?
She was in a few British tabloids a few weeks ago, pictured behind the scenes for a shoot for “for her new perfume campaign”. Why would she bother shooting ads for such a limited release, that’s probably going to sell out on pre-orders?

My brother’s gf ordered Love. It’s my least favorite from her for sure. I’ve really fallen for her original! I never thought in a million yrs. but I really do LIKE it! This smells like a million other white florals. That was her original too but I find the original to be much much better. It’s far far lighter than her original. The bottle is light as a feather. Haha. She didn’t care for it at all so she’s going to sell it on ebay. One bottle is already going for $265 so I think she can make a good profit off it. Next time Kim. : )
