Celine Dion Signature ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 22 July 2011 20 Comments

Celine Dion Signature

Celine Dion will launch Celine Dion Signature, a new perfume for women, in September. Per a Coty representative,

Celebrity fragrance franchises generally don’t last as long as fashion brands, but Céline has proven that she has incredible longevity in a category where there is always something new. We see our collaboration with her as a very long-term project, and our sales remain very solid.

Signature was developed by perfumer Ilias Ermenidis; notes include mimosa, pink lady apple, guava, jasmine, rose, magnolia, musk, amberwood and sandalwood.

Celine Dion Signature will be available in 15, 30 and 50 ml ($16-34).

Well…from the picture, the bottle looks nice…but the notes sounds so random…

Wish they’d given some description of the scent, even the fragrance family.

I think alot of celebrity fragrances have dramatic bottle shapes that look good in print; when I see them in real life, some how they seem gimmicky.

While it looks to be another fruity floral, at least it’s not of the “death by pink/red berries” variety. All the notes past the apple and mimosa look interesting.

Could be a fruity floral, but impossible to tell.

i actually saw this at walgreens yesterday and while i’m not a celine scent enthusiast, i did recognize it as new and was wondering why i had never heard of it before.

looks like their timing with product release and press info is a little off.

Fragrances are frequently on-counter long before their “official” launch.

Darn. I was hoping for a big, white floral. Something sickeningly romantic and over the top. Not because I want to smell that way (or smell it on others, for that matter), but because it would have been SOOoooo appropriate! : )

Seriously, as I was reading this, right as I got to the “over the top” part, I suddenly heard “My Heart Will Go On,” playing in the back of my head.

Ha! I lived in Madagascar just as they had been swept up by the movie Titanic, and I could not go ANYWHERE without hearing that song! Seriously! I was out in a “bush” village with no true road access (I had hiked there with the aid of some local guides/porters), and there was a small solar radio blaring it!

Oddly enough, somehow my mother managed to get through that Titanic year without noticing the song. I envied her.

It’s a good argument for developing some sort of “mental scrubber.” You know, a product that you can ingest/spray on/plug into your ear to rid yourself of song worm!

Then again, I suppose some people use liquor for that purpose! Unfortunately, it also seems to have the opposite effect on others (loudly singing whatever annoying song you wish they hadn’t just gotten stuck in you head!).

I just bought a bottle of this at Kohls this morning. It starts out fruity but starts drying down to some nice woods. I thought it would be along the lines of her first one . But I was wrong. I like it though.

I should really try SJP’s lovely, I’ve read good things about it. But since I hate sampling perfumes in department stores (the ambient smells give me a headache), I’ll probably never get to try Céline’s, and I don’t think I’ll be missing much!

I would never buy anything with her name on it and wouldn’t even bother smelling it. The bottle looks very nice though.

I like the bottle, but have to see it IRL.
Her first was a doppelganger of Lancome’s Tresor, when I tested it in the dept. store, the bottle attacked me with an ungodly STREAM of hissing fluid. I dislike Tresor and recognized the odor immediately, had to shower as soon as I came home from the mall. 😉 I guess she must have heard about me always mocking her “songs”, and had her perfume carry out the vendetta!
    S’il vous plaît arrêter!
