Madly Kenzo ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 15 June 2011 21 Comments

Madly Kenzo by Kenzo

Kenzo will launch Madly Kenzo, a new feminine fragrance, in August. The floral perfume is reportedly bold and ultra-sensual, and is intended for 'madly free' women. The bottle was designed by Ron Arad and resembles his Unidentified Fragrance Object for Kenzo (2009).

Madly Kenzo was developed by perfumer Aurelien Guichard (who also worked on UFO); the notes include orange blossom, pink pepper, heliotrope, rose, frankincense, vanilla, cedar and musk.

Kenzo Madly Kenzo will be available in 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum. (via prime-beaute)

    Maybe it IS the UFO!

Although the notes aren’t exactly what I’d call exiciting, imho, Kenzo does a great job with his fragrances. I’d sniff if I came across a bottle (which itself is kinda cool, no?)

They aren’t, but I liked UFO. Not sure I’d call it exciting, just a really nice incensey skin scent, kind of quirky.

OH I very much love the bottle and the package is lovely. I dunno about the notes really. There is frankincense, in it…but the pink pepper makes me a bit worried, that its will be one of those that is good, but not WOW!

If it’s like UFO, I will almost certainly buy the 30 ml — but you’re right that it wasn’t WOW.

    Hey, I like that bottle!

The notes list does sound nice, though I am a little concerned about the orange blossom (for me personally). It’s been a long time since I was even remotely interested in a new Kenzo.

Same — I got a little thrill when there were no fruity notes listed.

That bottle makes me happy, don’t know why it just looks fun.
Will have to try this one if only for the heliotrope, which I love.

The bottle is sensational! Very original and imaginative when it’s hard to come up with a new shape to hold a liquid.

Will have to sniff this out to see how it compares to UFO (I was lucky enough to get my hands on one). The new bottle is lovely, and unlike UFO, looks like it can stand up without assistance!

Not sure I like the idea of the pink peppercorns though. UFO is very ‘flat’, there’s no progression of the notes, but the drydown is just stunning.

I’ll be one very happy lady if this resembles UFO. I loved that perfume but think I missed the boat on getting one. But it was a wonderfully snuggly incense if there is such a thing, and I’m very curious to try this one as well.

Is Egabbert, Im happy to see no frutiy notes. Im sick of fruity notes…unless the are dry or in a cypres scent. So I must say, I am very curious about this one. Its not WOW notes…but could be blended well.

But it IS the new UFO! It must be! Just by looking at the notes I was almost sure, but I also checked your review Robin of UFO, posted in 2009. I have a bottle of UFO (scored one very reasonably priced on eBay); been hording it, so I am very happy to hear about this release.

I am also happy to see that the bottle is more user friendly; the UFO container IS cool and beautiful, but not easy to hold in one hand and spray…

Robin, so sorry for posting again, but I am dying of curiousity to see if I finally managed to get the right “settings” in my profile.

Yay, I believe I finally figured out how to make my “nick name” appear, instead of my user name… Ha, ha, just took me an hour… :-)

ooh, i haven’t been paying attention lately and just spotted this. :3

heliotrope, rose, and frankincense all sound great to me, and i’ve had pretty good luck with Kenzo fragrances, though regrettably i’ve never gotten a sniff of UFO. i love the packaging and color of this though!
