The only ELdO fragrance I’ve tried is Like This, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me, although I will try it again and again.

Ooh, I really want this; I love Etat Libre d’Orange! The last ELdO I bought was “Like This”–which I have signed by Tilda Swinton herself! But the last ELdO I wore was “Rien” on Saturday night: it’s been a while since I’ve worn it, I almost forgot how gorgeous it is!

It was Secretions Magnifique. I almost felt guilty for loving it. My sister, on the other hand, almost threw up, and spent the rest of the evening smelling me and flinching.

The last fragrance I tried? A bit belatedly, I tried Terre D’Hermes parfum the other day–I’m not sure it works quite as well in parfum concentration, but it was still lovely!

I can’t believe I’m throwing my name in the hat for this, but I love Christine Nagel! Never tried any ELdO scents, except for Like This, which I didn’t care for. Last scent I tried that I really liked – Profumi del Forte Roma Imperiale – wonderful!!!

  19. egabbert says:

I think the last one I tried was the Sex Pistols one, which didn’t make an impression, but I’m fond of this line. Rossy de Palma is an all-time favorite.

The most recent ELd’O I tried was Like This, a delicious pumpkin and spice scent. I also like Don’t Get Me Wrong, Antiheros, Eloge du Traitre and Je Suis un Homme.

The last ELdO I tried was Tom of Finland and it smelled to me like a delicious, icy cool mug of root beer float running over with froth. That the act-tough muscle mary turned out to be so vanilla is an in-joke I suppose gay men like myself can appreciate. Very very nice.

  24. Abyss says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:19 pm

    Ooh, great prize, thank you!

Does Tom Of Finland count? That was the last ELDO I tried. Only one shop used to stock ELDO in my area and they stopped a while ago which is a real shame since I’m pretty curious about a few of them.

Never tried any of the ELdo’s. Recently i’ve just tried L’Artisan Pour Un Ete. I like it a lot! The jasmine, citrus and tea give exhilarating effect in hot weather. Smells so natural too. I would love to be entered in the draw and you have the permission to use my email. Thanks.

  29. Tom Smith says:

I have never tried anything by this brand!

The last perfume I tried was Coeur de Vetiver Sacré by l’Artisan Parfumeur. It’s subtle and spicy and green with a mild touch of vetiver.

  30. Lucy says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:33 pm

I’ve never tried anything from ELdO, but only because I’ve never seen the line in person.
My last try of a new fragrance is a sample of Daim Blonde I received over the weekend (my first SL!). I really liked it, but it was very similar to my memory of Chanel Beige. I need to try them next to each other.

  31. ccspringer says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:34 pm

The last EldO fragrance I tried was Like This. It’s my favorite from the line so far. So many more I want to try though! I love that they are relatively affordable for a niche line.

  32. Teger says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:38 pm

Their last fragrance I tried was Like This. I also bought a bottle. I wish they offered all their fragrances in 100ml bottles.

  33. Rick says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:39 pm

The last one I wore was Secretions Magnifiques. I own it and wear it every few months. It’s more wearable than sniffable, if that makes any sense.

  34. Dixie says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:42 pm

The last ELdO fragrance I tried was Putain de Palaces and I bought it. It’s so wearable!

  35. Dilana says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:44 pm

The ELDO I tried was Fat Electrician, supposedly named after a home repair person’s crack, which is about what it smelled like. I presume there is a fetish market for such a scent. It certainly was not for me.

I really like Like This though.

  36. Aleksandra says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:45 pm

I’ve never tried any of their fragrances, unfortunately. The last scent I tried was Jennifer Aniston perfume, only because Sephora had an enormous island dedicated to it and I just read your review. Smelled like suntan lotion but kind of washed out. That photo of her on the stand is not good…

  37. rodelinda says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:52 pm

The last ELdO I tried was Like This, which I enjoyed, though not as much as Putain des Palaces. I LOVE Putain des Palaces.

  38. BlackRaspberry says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:53 pm

I haven’t had the opportunity to try any ELdO fragrances (although I’ve been really curious about Delicious Closet Queen for a few months now). The last fragrance I did sample, though, was the Original Penguin EdT, just yesterday actually. Some well-enough composed, but wasn’t particularly interesting.

  39. Stew says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:54 pm

Sex Pistols….I thought it was very well done. Even with the strange combination of notes, everything from plum to leather to lemons, it’s a very smooth scent. Hopefully, it will become more popular as the word gets out about it. It might even be bottle worthy for me. Plus I’ll get to say “Sex Pistols” when people ask what I’m wearing!

  40. garamascara says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:54 pm

I love ELdO. I recently sampled Like This and Sex Pistols and I love the both and am saving for full bottles.

    You have my permission. Thanks

Le sigh… I have not tried any Etate Libre D’Orange offerings. Most recently I tried Unititled by Maison Martin Margiela. I loved its crushed-stems opening, but after 15 minutes or so it started to smell like the Philosophy Signature fragrance on me … too limp, too pale, too sweet, too artificial. I anticipate that my next sample will be Jardin sur le Toit, thanks to my lovely Sephora fragrance specialist!

  42. Evonna says:
    18 April 2011 at 12:59 pm

The last perfume I tried was L’Artisan Mure et Musc Extreme (spritzed some of my sample on my wrists this morning). Like it but don’t know if I need a FB. Haven’t made it to the ELdO fragrances yet for sniffing, so this is a great oppurtunity! (It looks like from all the comments that I am going to need to sample Like This at least.)

Thanks for the draw! You have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact me, should I be lucky enough to win.

The last ELdO I wore was probably Vierges et Toreros. I love that scent! I have a few other FBs from ELdO and need to sample more. The last samples I tried were Rossy de Palma, Rien and Like This, and liked them all.

  44. NaturalSelektion says:

In all honesty I haven’t ever tried anything from this brand. I’ve recently tried something from Lolita Limpicka. Si and I think her original fragrance. They smell soft and pretty. It’s just not my type of thing. I’m not really a soft and pretty type of chick.

  45. Rictor07 says:
    18 April 2011 at 1:03 pm

The last Etat Libre scent i sampled was Nombril Immense. A pretty decent patchouli centric fragrance. Possibly even full bottle worthy.

  46. gvillecreative says:
    18 April 2011 at 1:03 pm

Oohh! I love Etat Libre, ever since trying “Like This” (which is sooo comforting and sweet on my skin). I love wearing it outside, since it has fantastic sillage and dances in the breeze. It’s a beauty.

Hope to try more in the future! THanks for posting this giveaway!!!

  47. kb2003 says:

The last ELd’O fragrance I tried was Sex Pistols, which I liked but ultimately the idea of it sounded better than what it actually was. A disappointment compared to Fat Electrician, which I adore, and now I have high hopes for Archives 69. Would love to win this giveaway! Thanks for the chance.

  48. AyelFior says:
    18 April 2011 at 1:13 pm

The last ELdO fragrances I’ve tried were Noel au Balcon and Like This. I tried Like This with a friend at Les Senteurs and she was instantly addicted! It led to her buying a bottle, with me getting a 20ml decant from it. I’m certainly not a bad influence! =P

  49. AgentBetty says:
    18 April 2011 at 1:13 pm

Oh, I likes! I wants! Please to enter me in the contest.

I’ve tried most of the Eld’O frags, except for Like This, which I’m looking forward to trying in the future because I adore pumpkin. My faves so far are Fat Electrician and Rossy de Palma, though my bf was not keen on either of those. My current favourite Eld’O is Jasmine et Cigarette; what a neat combo.

  50. blecky says:
    18 April 2011 at 1:19 pm

I’ve never tried any of the ELd’O fragrances. the last perfume I tried was Rose d’Homme by Les Parfums de Rosine. It’s lovely, reminds me of Habit Rouge with a nice heirloom-rose top note. This floral would smell great on a man, the butcher the better.

  51. dleep says:
    18 April 2011 at 1:20 pm

The only ELdO fragrance I have tried is “Like This.” I would love to be entered into this drawing. The last fragrance I tried was Brecourt Haram and I will be getting a bottle. You have my permission to use the email address associated with my account.

I have samples of the entire range of ELDO and have really enjoyed a great number of them. I own Charogne, which is great, but my favorite is absolutely, hands down Rossy de Palma – I am on my 3rd bottle. It is a scent that I can’t stand being out of – its that satisfying for me. Would really love to be entered into the Archives 69 drawing as I really enjoy ELDO.

  54. JolieFleurs says:

The last ELdO fragrance I tried was Sécrétions Magnifiques…fortunately, I had tried others in the line before that, so it didn’t swear me off the brand forever.

Thanks for a chance to win!

  55. AnnieA says:
    18 April 2011 at 1:33 pm

Last ELdO I tried was the Sex Pistols one, which not not punky at all! Okay guy fragrance, but no rudeness anywhere. I have bottles of Viereges et Toreroes, Rossy de Palma and Rien.

The last Etat Libre d’Orange scent I tried was Bendelerious. It’s a funky cherry and iris scent that is so trashy it’s good.

Has anyone been to the ELDO boutique in Paris? It’s definitely wroth a trip if you’re ever in the area.

  61. Isa says:
    18 April 2011 at 1:56 pm

The last ELDO fragrances I tried were Like This and Fat Electrician.
I had high hopes on the first one because I had read many good reviews and it seemed right up my alley, but this perfume proves that you have to try before buying. It had a little bit of licorice and I did not like it as much as I wanted.
Fat Electrician, however, is a very good vetiver. I’d like to try it again.

You have permission to use my email if I win. Thanks for the draw!

By the way, my favorite ELDO perfume is Nombril Immense. I own a bottle of it.

  62. turbovivi says:

The only ELDO I tried is Secretions Magnifiques. There’s no ELDO where I live, so, when I was in Moscow two years ago I was in this huge department store, GUM, in perfume shop. When I already almost had no “skin space” left I suddenly remembered to try Secretions Magnifiques. It was difficult to find on the ELDO shelf: the tester was (intentionally, I think) hidden behind other ELDO testers! Ok, I won’t be very original here: it almost made me sick :-))

I’ve never been able to try any ELDO scents, as nowhere nearby carries them, but I’ve always thought they looked interesting. Today I’m testing out Xerjoff’s Lua, which the wonderful company very kindly sent me a free sample of some weeks ago. It’s a sweet, nice scent, though I’m afraid it has yet to leave much of an impression. Overall, I much prefer XXY. :)

I haven’t yet tried any Etat Libre d’Orange frags (I’m a bit gun-shy when it comes to over-the-top gimmicky brands) BUT I’d love to be made to eat my words! (email address permission granted)

The last fragrance that I tried, I mean, that I fell in LOVE with, is Cologne Grand Siècle of Parfumerie Générale. It is so beautiful..it fulfills my ideal of what an eau de cologne should be (despite the gimmicky ‘all natural’ thing). Definitely more so than Impériale or even Farina, both of which I like, but which are left seeming almost utilitarian compared to this delight. The bitter orange is absolutely stimulating. And it has better lasting power than most. Go get it, everyone!

okay, I will confess. The most recent ELdO I tried (and even bought the sample!) was Encens et Bubblegum. But I have some very fond childhood memories of reading Nancy Drew books with the big tootsie roll shaped Bazooka bubble gums at my side as I chewed and read, put new piece in when the sugar rush subsided, chew more, read more. You know the drill. I don’t need a FB of Encens, I don’t think, but gotta love ELdO for honoring the Bazooka Joe in all of us. I live in the US and you may use my email.

Unfortunately, I have never tried any ELdO fragrance. But the last perfume I tried was Incense Oud by Kilian. In the beginning it smells cold, like a clear night in the desert, with soft citrus notes and lots of incense. But after half an hour it gets rather warm with sandalwood and a touch of cardamom. I don’t smell much oud in it. The first two arabian night fragrances were much better!

I would love to try this one. I like the notes and *blush* I like the name!

Last ELO I tried was Delicious Closet Queen, which I didn’t care for too much. I love Putain des Palaces, though. Used up a sample, then saved up for a bottle at Les Senteurs here in London. When I arrived in the shop last week, however, someone had already bought up the last four bottles. There oughtta be a law. At least Les Senteurs is generous with their samples, though, so at least I have something to tide me over.

I don’t know why I don’t own a bottle of it yet. (Probably because my first full-bottle purchase would be the genius Je Suis Un Homme.)

the last fragrancei tried was YSL parisienne (i had no choice, the SA approached me and spritzed me, as they are aggresively campaigning it right now in buenos aires =P). the last fragrance i bought, however, was the wonderfully intoxicating gucci eau de parfum I !

Last one I tried was Rossy. She was appropriately skanky-unusual-fierce, but her saffron ultimately put me off. I adore her sister, Putain des Palaces, which I’ve worn to a mini-sniffa resulting in careful, hesitant comments from a fellow perfumista who thought (I believe) that I was improperly washed, as well as to a Methodist ministers’ conference, where not a single person made a comment. I was so disappointed.

Oh, I love several ELdOs! Jasmin et Cigarette is my only FB so far, but I love how it teeters on a line between elegant and trashy. On some days, the jasmine and tobacco combination is almost apricot-like on me. And I adore Nombril Immense with its winy patchouli goodness. Antiheros, with its squeaky-clean lavender spiked with something spicy, and Divin’Enfant, with its delicious near-cacophony of orange blossom, coffee, and marshmallow are the sleeper hits of the line for me. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying Like This, but the notes sound delicious! And I’d love the chance to experience Archives 69. There’s no Etat Libre d’Orange available in the country unfortunately, but will be travelling soon and will make a bee line for the Secretions Magnifiques! Last perfume tried would be Chanel Cristalle Eau de Parfum :)

    have never tried an etat..
last perfume tried was Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint Germain and thought even the EDT was better as a room spray instead of personal perfume ;)

I haven’t tried any of the Etat fragrances yet but there are many I’d love to own- the Libre d”orange would actually be my first choice :)

The last scent I tried was Atkinson’s Mirra Mirra. It is a light, warm, lovely Myrrh scent. Very comforting. Unfortunately it is near impossible to dind in the US but I splurged and ordered some from England!

If I am lucky enough to win you may definately use my email address.

Like This, Tilda Swinton Id have to say was my first major scent revelation into the rabbit hole of niche! Id been slipping into the perfumistaness but that smelled so entirely different and perfect, I was done for since. Still its my favorite. Then came Noel Au Balcon, which I also love & had to get some of. I’d love to try anything from their line, nothing from them yet has disappointed.

I live in US and email address in profile is fine. Would love to try Archives!

The last one I tried was “Like This” which I really enjoyed. I’ve actually liked several of them. Just not “Secretions Magnafique” which I cannot bear.

The last ELdO I tried was also “Like This” and it was great.

This scent was recommended to me from last Monday’s Mail so I’d be thrilled to win!

I love Etat Libre! Easily on my top 5 list of perfume houses. Perhaps my favorite.

My favorites are Jasmin et Cigarette, Rossy de Palma, and Noel en Balcon. Though I also love Like This, Fat Electrician, Divin Enfant and Putain des Palace. Please enter me in the drawing! I’d love to win!

Please enter me, I have never tried anything from this line but this one is getting a lot of great reviews!

I recently got the Ineke sampler set and I was blown away – I had never tried any of them before but they are all truly outstanding. I am especially enamored of Evening Edged In Gold. Better late than never!

I haven’t tried any of ELdO perfumes yet (though I have couple of samples – thanks to a good friend and a chance). The last new (for me) fragrance I tried was Bigarade Concentree by Frederic Malle – it was a mixed love-hate feeling, I’ll need to wear it again.

I have never tried, and my last new frag I received yesterday is La Maison Vanille Noire de Mexique.
I smell chocolate, chocolate, chocolate but my co-workers all said they could smell the floral. Go figure.

The last ELdO I tried was Like This. I love the opening and middle part, but I’m not sure about the drydown. I think there’s some kind of musk that dominates it in a way that I’m not sure I feel comfortable with, almost feels like I can taste it in my mouth.

Last ELDO I tried was Like This, which I had high hopes for, but ultimately I didn’t like it at all.

I love Noel au Balcon and can’t wait to own a bottle. A sort of more intense and cheaper Tea for Two.

Wow, what a great draw – thank you! I’ve been looking forward to Archives 69 ever since they announced it. ELdO is one of my very favourite lines. I currently wear Like This and Tom of Finland a lot. Soft spots for Jasmin et Cigarette and Charogne, as well. Nkd Man is a FANTASTIC website – I visit them often and I love that they now have an ELdO discovery set in stock. I definitely need to order that soon. You have permission to use my e-mail address, Robin!
