NST Giveaway: Lush Dirty

Posted by Robin on 12 April 2011 77 Comments — Comments are closed

Lush Dirty

What is it: 5 products from the Lush Dirty range for men (all the products shown in the picture, but not so many of them), including 100 g Dirty Hair Styling Cream, 100 g Dirty Shaving Cream, 40 Dirty Toothy Tabs, 100 g Dirty Springwash Shower Gel and 180g Dirty Body Spray:

Dirty is for men who care about their appearance but can’t be bothered with too much paraphernalia in the mornings. It takes the idea of layering to a whole new level – the complete fragrance is broken down to its individual components, each of which is a beautiful perfume in its entirety and, as such, is used in each product in the range. So once all the products have been applied during a morning grooming routine all the necessary bits will have been combined to make the actual fragrance. Dirty as a complete fragrance is clean, minty and refreshing. It has herby undernotes, is sexy and invigorating.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment telling me that you live in the US. Also, please tell me what you think is the absolute best men's fragrance ever made.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! Replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Thursday, and I'll announce the winner on Friday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

I live in the USA, and have so far been unsuccessful in persuading my husband to wear fragrance, much to my dismay- apparently, it’s “too girly.” 🙁 But if I could get my man to wear perfume, I’d go straight for the jugular and make him wear Muscs Koublai Khan.

For wearing “men’s” fragrance myself, I’d wear the above as well (it’s soo good!), but I’d also wear the lovely Bulgari Black.

Hello, there! I live in the US and you have the permission to use my email of course.

The best men’s fragrance ever made is Bond no.9 Signatue perfume. It is most definitely more of a men’s fragrance than a feminine one. It is the most beautiful oud and it’s just so smooth. It never turns too medicinal on the skin. It’s very elegant and very well-behaved. At the same time this is some powerful, very long-lasting stuff and a little goes a long way. Tonka beans give it a very creamy, deliscious finish. I’ve bought ten samples of it and gave them all away to different men in my life: my dad, my fiance, my cousins, my grandpa, my best male friend. Every single one of these men in my life loved it. My dad told me it smells like a very confident, strong man and wants a bottle of it for his birthday coming up! The Signature perfume definitely smells like the good stuff and it’s worth every single penny.

What a fun giveaway! I live in the US and you have permission to use my email address. The best men’s fragrance ever…sorry can’t pick just one, so I’ll throw out a few all-time favorites: Chanel Antaeus, Ralph Lauren Safari for Men, Yves Saint Laurent M7, Dior Eau Sauvage, Antonio Puig Quorum, Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel, and Estee Lauder’s Lauder for Men. Okay, that’s way more than a few! Strange how much I enjoy unusual scents for myself, but my taste in men’s fragrance definitely leans toward the traditional and mainstream.

  44. Marjorie Rose says:
    12 April 2011 at 8:32 pm

I live in the US. I tend to love the more unisex fragrances from the men’s aisle for myself, but on a man? Not sure anything can top Old Spice!

  45. AmyT says:

Can’t enter as I don’t live in the US…but I definitely have a warm nostalgia associated with Joop! Homme (my late father’s preferred scent). My husband wore CK One when we first met, but now he seems to favour vanilla body lotion. 🙂

What the heck are “Toothy Tabs”?

can’t believe i’m going to say this, but the jovan men’s fragrances from the 70’s and 80’s still make me weak-kneed. i know it’s shameful. so does that make them good or bad? (i livein the US and you may contact me by email.)

I helped a customer recently and I had a hard time focusing on what he was saying because he smelled so darn good! I couldn’t get enough of it. I kept sniffing trying to guess in my mind what was it that he was wearing. Before he left I just had to ask.
It was Tom Ford For Men. 🙂

Best men’s fragrance…hmmm…I don’t know that I can choose the “best,” but my favorite is possibly Mugler Cologne, although I also like Opium pour Homme very much – nice and minty without smelling like toothpaste. On my husband I love Ambre Sultan, but on me it smells awful….Oh, what a difficult question!
