Keira Knightley talks about Chanel Coco Mademoiselle in the first (second is below the jump update: second is no longer on Youtube, sorry!) of two teasers for the upcoming commercial, which is to debut next week. And if you missed them, check out the 2007 and 2009 efforts.

Damn! She’s GORGEOUS!
Ok, got that out of my system! *wipes brow*
She really is beautiful. I don’t know why, but I never like to hear her talk though.
Same here she is very beautiful but when she speaks all I get is English snob. The ads are stunning.
Ditto. I think she comes across as slightly awkward when she speaks here because I get the sense that she doesn’t know much when it comes to perfume, so is sort of grasping for words (I don’t think it’s something she’s given much though toward before signing on as the face of Coco Mademoiselle). I think she comes across way better when she’s not talking at all (some of those shots of her in the making-of were heart-stoppingly gorgeous). Harsh, perhaps? Maybe. But I really have nothing against her!
I think she always sounds awkward to me. Not snobby really, just awkward.
I find this “teaser” ridiculously cliché and just plain dumb. Is that the best that Chanel’s ad and marketing team can think of? Who did chanel 5 with Audrey Toutou? It was beautiful, haunting…
BTW I believe the words were chosen precisely to catch non-perfumistas. Hardly anyone visiting this or any other fragrance site is the target for this campaign.
“I usually wear men’s fragrances”.
That figures. She’s an Aries. That explains everything, to me at least.
That being said, I absolutely heart Ms. Knightley.
Not to burst anyone’s bubble or anything but she has been put on record previously on throwing half a bottle of J’Adore (her mother’s) on herself (allegedly she loved it so) when younger and she has also confessed a likeness for Monyette Paris and Coquette Tropique. Hardly men’s “perfumes” and hardly “not that kind of girl”. I don’t know why Chanel thinks they should market Coco Mlle in such a way…it’s odd because it’s certainly sweet stuff. I guess it ties in with the Glamazon image on the motorcycle.
I also wish she would develop her own fragrance. Given her inclination towards “stronger perfumes”, I’m kind of curious as to see what she would come up with. However, I doubt her contract w/Chanel would allow her to do something on her own.
Surprised to hear her describe it as “not sweet”… it seems pretty darn sweet to me. I used to crave a bottle of this but, after living with a sample of the EdP for a while, decided it was just too sweet for me. I don’t think it’s a bad scent, though — and I do love those classic Chanel bottles.
what a crap!? i hate when all these celebrities talk the same stupid things… oh ,it’s the first perfume i ever worn, oh it’s not too sweet, not overpowering, just right… oh it’s so amazing that someone wears the same perfume and it smells so different… oh this oh that… does anybody really believe that?
It seems both pretty darn sweet and pretty darn loud/overpowering to me!
