I liked this. The male model looked familiar. I loved the part where she “marked her territory” by dabbing him with the fragrance. Brilliant!

I cannot stand Joss Stone’s interpretation of that song. It grates on me every time the commercial comes on. I have liked her doing more soulful things and she was great on the Grammys one year doing a tribute of Janis Joplin – but her cover of this song is so wrong, imo.

You know, I like it for the commercial, but for “just listening” I’d much rather hear Nat King Cole.

        Or Diana Krall

Yes – either one of those works for me!

in my opinion, some of the best spent marketing dollars ever. it really presents a world you’d want to spend money to relive it. she’s beautiful, carefree, has a killer apartment, gorgeous man, independent and likes to go her own way.

srsly, what girl wouldn’t want to think herself as the character Keira portrays in that commercial?

Well, you asked…so I have to say that the slice of fantasy life depicted in the ad doesn’t appeal to me at all. But it seems a great fit with the image that Chanel would like to project, so I agree: money well spent (assuming it actually sold some Coco Mademoiselle, and I’d guess it did)

What is the history behind that bowler hat i see in Chanel ads? And is Kiera walking into the window making reference to a past ad? The be honest I don’t love this ad because it seems as though it is trying a little too hard which is also how I generally feel about Kiera Knightly.

I don’t know…there are several “making of” videos on YouTube which might have answers though! Here’s the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle channel:

Ditto, I can’t bring myself to watch it because I find her very self-aware in everything she does.

Well, I didn’t like it either. I found the Coco Videos that are posted recently much better.

Aww, I like Kiera, and I don’t get why she gets such a bad rap. I think her ads are better than most fume ads (Chanel fume ads in general are better than most, I think). I think the whole thing’s great! Doesn’t make me want to buy the fume, though.

I liked her in Atonement, but I think that’s the only movie I’ve ever liked her in…but would have a hard time saying why. I do think she’s a good fit for this commercial though.
