Narciso Rodriguez Essence Eau de Musc ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 3 March 2011 9 Comments

Narciso Rodriguez Essence Eau de Musc

Narciso Rodriguez has launched Essence Eau de Musc, a new variation on 2009's Essence for Women:

when the sensuality of musc meets the freshness of an Eau...

with essence eau de musc, Narciso Rodriguez writes a new page in the story of essence, unveiling the duality of the modern woman

sensual and radiant, essence eau de musc is a fresh, dazzling and musky eau de toilette : a subtile composition of citrus, floral and amber notes that all resonate around a heart of musc, the fragrance signature of Narciso Rodriguez

The notes include citrus, bergamot, spices, iris, floral notes, powdery accord and musk.

Narciso Rodriguez Essence Eau de Musc can be found at Saks, in 75 or 125 ml Eau de Toilette. (quote via bpi-sa, additional information via saksfifthavenue, osmoz)

I hope this is an improvement on the original Essence. I love all the incarnations of NR’s original Musk for Her including the Intense, but when I tried Essence, it came off as a really screetchy white musk for me, nothing more and nothing less. I was really disappointed, so hope this flanker isn’t as sharp and thin.

They did an Intense last year, maybe that was less thin. I’d think this one would be thinner.

These names are truly becoming comical. Couldn’t they just be called NR 1, NR2, NR 3, etc etc?

NR makes me crazy…they all sound & look the same, I can’t even tell if things are new or not.

Exactly my thoughts. I tried. I really tried, to figure them out, but it all muddles together. I don’t think I really loved any of them that I smelled (assuming I was not sniffing the same one repeatedly), so perhaps it is no big deal. Just frustrating. Kinda like pantyhose with a label–if I love them, I want to buy more, but never know what they were in the first place.

Oops. Make that “without a label”–obviously if they had a label, I’d be one happy camper –if one CAN be happy encased in those things!

I tried this one and like it better than original Essence edp, it´s less metalic and more powdery. It could make a nice spring scent

The vessel is clean and clear,so is the fragrances–suitable for light evenings and small group parties. 😀

I love these scents – the For Her Musc Intense is a heavy favorite in my rotation. But these near-identical names are impossible – so much alike and hard to keep straight. Enough already!
