Lancome O de l’Orangerie ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 23 January 2011 29 Comments

Lancôme Ô de l’Orangerie fragrance

Lancôme will launch Ô de l’Orangerie this spring. The new fragrance for women is a flanker 1969's Ô de Lancôme, and follows last year's Ô d’Azur. Ô de l’Orangerie is an ode to orange blossom and hopes to evoke a walk in the shade of orange trees in a French garden.

The notes include orange blossom, orange zest, jasmine, benzoin and cedar.

Lancôme Ô de l’Orangerie will be available in Eau de Toilette; I will try to update with sizes when I can. (via parfum-femme.prime-beaute)

Update: Lancôme Ô de l’Orangerie is in 75 ml for $55.

Original O is so ‘meh’ to me. There are so many fragrances of that type that I prefer. This does sound kind of interesting though.

Wonder what the distribution will be. I don’t recall seeing O d’Azur at Macy’s.

I did not see O de Azur anywhere, but then, I didn’t go looking for it either. No idea if it came to the US or not…

I second your comment on it being “meh” and there being others. There were a few ads for O d’Azur at bus stops and such in Germany and France last year

I like the original chilled in the summer- reminds ‘me of my grandmother. Excellent after a shower in the evening before sitting to have a G&T with lemon. I do love orange blossom though so will have to sniff this one!

I love that sort of fragrance! I keep Kenzo’s Eau de Fleur de Magnolia for that. (Well, I wish I could afford the gin more often … )

The original was absolutely wonderful when it first came out. I believe it has been edulcorated in the meantime and lost its dryness.

The new version is fresher than it used to be…more synthetic freshness, less oakmoss.

I always crave fragrances like this in the springtime (then go running back to my vanilla and musk after about a week), so I’ll give this is a sniff as I sounds quite nice. Furthermore, I have SO many questions for that . . . err, INTRIGUING model: Why is she dressed like that outside? How is the sun and shade playing off of her so well when she appears to be in a clearing? Does she always stand like that in French orange groves? Does she find that a useful pose for blocking sunlight off her face?

that is her garden… that’s why she stays there dressed like that… She lives in Neully, and in summer she goes south, to her own Provencal summer house, where she has lots of oranges and lemon trees……

O de l’Orangie…the fragrance that makes you lose your trousers and wander about in Orange Groves …..I’m in complete agreement with Valentine—this ad raises a lot of important questions! Did she start out WITH pants but lost them somewhere along the way?(wouldn’t that be more of a liquor ad than perfume?) Is she having difficulty with her hair…or is she suffering a terrible fail of her antiperspirant ? She looks a little perturbed; perhaps she is lost? These are all bad things…compounded by the fact that the authorities can often take a dim view of undies-only in public. And lastly: who comes up with this stuff? sheeesh.

LOL! Perhaps she met someone in the garden that caused her to lose her pants! Snark!

it’d have to be Gerard Butler …or Hugh Jackman……
well, that’s what would work on my pants….

I don’t know about Daisy or Valentine, but I always stand in my orange grove tossing my hair and wearing a white shirt and bikini panties. It’s how I commune with nature. Smirk, smirk.

And why does she have what looks like an inflatable bra on her head? If O de l’Orangerie is the new water, is an inflatable bra the new sun hat?

I wonder how the benzoin plays out here. This one sounds promising, maybe not thrilling, but it does sound like it could be very pleasant to wear.

So we are not supposed to romp around an orange grove like that?! oops!

I am so over cold weather and so ready for warmer weather. Perhaps that is why I am so drawn to anything that might remind me of Spring or Summer at this point.

You all made me laugh! That ad has a sixties look — the model’s type, something about the fey composition. It does seem bizarre, but then, perfume ads so often do.

Where I am, the thermometer currently reads five below in the blazing midday sun, up from overnight lows that were completely unspeakable. I’m ready to order anything and everything with orange blossom, starting with my favorite SL.

I’m a total orange blossom whore and would definitely try this if my local Macy’s gets it. It sounds really wonderful for warm summer nights.

I´ve tried it and I´m liking it…It has some chemical orange-yness to it.. a note that I like but usually decomposes fast.. they did something and the note is much more persistent… mmmm liking this a lott

I want this so badly! I’m in Canada, so think I may have to “buy blind” because I doubt it’ll ever come here :(
