      They’re usually not too bad.

Enough with the Zen flankers already. Shiseido, would you please do a brand new fragrance that’s not Zen? Plus, none of them have been as good as the original anyway. Thank you. Very sincerely, RusticDove

I have the original (black bottle) Zen, and it is perfect for this weather. It puts me so exactly in mind of a crackling fire. I haven’t smelled any of the more recent “Zen” releases, but really–why keep calling all of these different fragrances by the same name?

Shiseido’s whole non-Asia strategy is Zen, and more Zen.

Yep. I haven’t loved anything from Shiseido since Zen Pearl and Shiseido Relaxing, which seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. I stocked up on Zen Pearl though. It is a beautifully composed powdery/incensy rose. Neither of these look the least bit interesting, just like the other recent Zen flankers. 🙁

Lol! I hope they hear you Rustic.
The men’s version sounds more interesting than the women’s. For some reason raspberry and magnolia notes make me nauseous.

It doesn’t appeal to me either.

Not that I expect them to smell anything alike, but Givenchy Hot Couture (when it was first released, anyway) was mostly raspberry, magnolia, black pepper, and vetiver, and it was kind of amazing.

I so agree with you, Pyramus. I stumbled upon some Hot Couture in the edt (which I oddly prefer to the edp in this case) as a randomly selected Sephora sample–I will just pick random samps if I’m not familiar with anything on the list or it wasn’t something I want to try again–and it blew my mind. It was sweet but earthy, young but not exactly and just a hell of a lot of fun to wear and experience. Hopefully it hasn’t been discontinued. I bought a rollerball and have decided it will have to be one of my next fb purchases after all. A really interesting and exciting frag to be sure.

If they ever release a fragrance by another name, it should be called Enlightenment.

      That would be perfect!

“Englightenment” will have the smell of water and chopped wood, with an endorsement by the Dalai Llama (sp?). Seems like everyone is doing celebrity fragrances…his could raise some dough to help Tibetan exiles. C’mon…it’s a great idea. The bottle would have a saffron color.

And somehow to spray it you need to turn a prayer wheel in the lid? Think of all that positive energy: I think we’r onto something…

Van Morrison actually has a song called “Enlightenment” – maybe it could be licensed for the ad campaign. “Moondance” was used for a car commercial a while back.

I LOVE THE ZEN Fragrances, Need to buy me a bottle of the New Mens Version. My Favorite Zen is the one in the White Bottle that was called an “Aromatic” something-or-other and not EXACTLY a fragrance, but it was SOOOO Calming and Languid and Slyly Sensual! although nothing has ever come close To Vocalise by Shiseido… if any of you can Grab a bottle, GET SOME AND DON’T LET GO! SO GORGEOUS!

The men’s version seems worth trying—-for women fragrance looks non-interesting 🙁
