Shiseido Zen for Men ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 14 August 2009 18 Comments

Shiseido Zen for Men cologne

Shiseido will launch Zen for Men this month. The new fragrance is the masculine counterpart to 2007's Zen for women, and hopes to 'unite uncompromising sensuality and modern elegance'.

The fragrance notes include kumquat, bergamot, Nashi pear, violet, rhododendron, nutmeg, leather, patchouli and musk.

Shiseido Zen for Men will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via cosmoty.de)

I did not love the women’s, but it was nice. This one sounds nice too.

I have such good associations with rhododendron but can’t for the life of me remember it’s smell. I can only imagine it being a sappy scent…. Beautiful bottle, however. I really hope the top is metal, though even the Hermessence caps are plastic. Which is strangely upsetting to me.

I have several rhodies in my yard and not one of them has any fragrance at all, even at pollen on the end of your nose type range. So I wonder what that note could be?

..because nothing screams modern elegance like a kumquat. 😉 The bottle looks industrial to me, with all the beauty and grace of a downtown office building.

Looks like a Gucci II bottle. the notes sound amazing, but rhodies? I’ve never smelled a fragrant one and they are littered all over our state.

Interesting. I’ll have to lurk in the Rhododendron Dell in the park and see if any of them smell like anything.

Tired of blue = men’s, but otherwise I like the bottle too.
