Givenchy opens boutique at Disney’s Epcot

Posted by Robin on 24 September 2010 12 Comments

Parfums Givenchy has opened a stand-alone boutique — the only one in the US — in "France" at Disney's Epcot theme park in Orlando, Florida:

[...] The 400 sq. ft. shop will be located at the France Pavilion in Epcot® at the Walt Disney World® Resort and will house the full range of Givenchy Le Makeup, Skincare and Fragrances.

From September 30 – October 3, a special event will be held celebrating the opening of the boutique. Guests will have the opportunity to fully experience chic services and products from Givenchy with makeup artists and fragrance specialists. This special event will feature exclusive products available only at Epcot®.

"We are thrilled to open our full-range boutique of Fragrances and Cosmetics in the France Pavilion in Epcot®.” said Jean-Christophe Gandon, General Manager of Parfums Givenchy, Kenzo and Emilio Pucci Fragrance “This is the only place in the United States where the entire range of Givenchy Fragrances, Skincare and Make-up will be available under one roof. We think that Epcot and Givenchy both share the same mission to celebrate innovation and provide an outstanding experience to the consumer. I really believe this new boutique will soon become a favorite among visitors to the France Pavilion in Epcot®."

I go to Disney World/Epcot with my family every year, and this is exciting news! It was, after alll, at Epcot’s France that I first smelled many Guerlains.

I was only there once and the selection was horrible — I must have picked a bad time because I hear they’re usually very well-stocked!

Yes, the Guerlain shop usually has quite a few hard to find things. And I’ve always found the SAs there to be quite helpful.

Oh WOW!!!! We love Disney World and my husband has been bugging me about wanting to go back – I’ve been putting him off because of the expense but now I may have to give in. ;)

I went to Epcot three years ago and by then I did not know that there were perfume shops there. I knew it later. Had I known it, I would have spent more time in the French boutiques. Oh well…
Whatever, I loved Walt Disney World and I would go again :)

Even though it’s probably been 25 years since I was at Epcot center, I remembering loving it. People laugh at me when I tell them this, but I had some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life at the French exhibit and the Moroccan exhibit.

I kind of don’t care about Givenchy these days, but I like the idea of this. (I can’t see the video from where I’m at, so maybe that would have colored my opinion one way or the other.) At first when I read “Givenchy opens boutique at Disney’s…” I didn’t catch the last word, and had images of someone dressed as Goofy, spritzing people with Amarige. Which may be the image I use to cheer myself up for the rest of the day.

I was at Epcot last year (got engaged there, actually) and loved the Guerlain shop in “France.” I’ll look forward to going back!

given that this guy is apparently french, his french accent is rather…. ‘meh’.

the interviewer must have heard dozens of times already how to pronounce ‘Givenchy’, yet manages to pronounce it wrong. good job.

i expected Minnie Mouse to be dressed in Givenchy to be honest lol.

i know, i’m a big Debbie Downer today haha

Well, adding to the down-ness, I thought the Givenchy-Audrey Hepburn-Sleeping Beauty connection a bit of a stretch.

Does this mean the Givenchy boutique in Paris will start selling mouse ears?
