Meh. Not a bad voice but the advert did nothing for me. I have to say it was nice to have no facetime in the spot but other than that meh.

Oh, I liked the bottle porn! Do wonder if this is the “final” commercial though — it is perhaps not exciting enough for tv.

Wow! That’s actually her singing? I’m impressed. I mean, she sounds like a million other female singers out there today but at least she can carry a tune. That said, this just didn’t strike me as very “Galliano”.

I was surprised too, never having heard her sing.

Decent voice. Awful ad. Great name for a fragrance though – roughly translated as ‘speak to me of love’.

I’m the only one who enjoyed the bottle porn, LOL…

I love the bottle porn! The idea of the perfume, not the diminutive sex-kitten, as the focal point really works for me.

I would have thought they would have used the Jean Bernard Neuburger song “Parlez-Moi D’Amour” made famous by Edith Piaf (and covered by many others). Maybe too obvious?

The song would probably not be a good fit with Taylor Momsen though, and given that they’re gearing this to a pretty young audience, this probably works better.

I think it would have been a natural to reinterpret into her breathy acoustic style. Then again, it might have been too romantic and off the mark for the intended audience. It will be interesting to see if the fragrance fits the image.

As a fan of big, distinctive and/or quirky voices [Linda Ronstadt, Ann Wilson, Grace Slick, Bonnie Raitt, Chrissie Hynde, Johnette Napolitano, Alannis Morrisette, Rickie Lee Jones – OK I’ll stop now], this style of singing grates on my nerves like you wouldn’t believe. But I was thinking ‘what a pretty bottle’! 😉

Thanks Say. I’m just old school, I guess – and I’m okay with that. 😉

The best part is that Momsen left what was a major role on Gossip Girl to “focus on her singing career”. Umm… good luck with that, kid.

Did she really Ari? I watch that sometimes because of my daughter and Taylor was quite an evil little wench. lol She’s the ‘face’ or whatever for Madonna and her daughter’s Material Girl clothing line. I think she just looks morose all the damn time.

I know what you mean, but I like this style soooo much better than the “diva belters” that are so popular these days.

I agree – the vocal acrobatics do get a bit tiresome.

Parlez-Moi D’Amour was a worldwide hit for Lucienne Boyer, not Piaf…
I guess they assume English speakers can only handle one old time french singer…
Linda Ronstadt did a terrific version on a recent album…

I’d love to hear Linda’s version. She’s still got it, the old girl. 😀

It’s wonderful, But we have to stop these people from attributing this song to Piaf everywhere!
She and Lucienne married the same man (at different times), but they did not share this song!

Merci for the correct attribution for the original chanteuse of Parlez Moi d’Amour. I think i’ll devote some listening time to Lucienne Boyer.
