John Galliano Parlez-Moi d’Amour ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 15 September 2010 28 Comments

Taylor Momsen for John Galliano Parlez-Moi d'AmourJohn Galliano Parlez-Moi d'Amour

John Galliano will launch Parlez-Moi d’Amour, a new fragrance for women, in October. Parlez-Moi d’Amour, which is fronted by Taylor Momsen, is meant as an ode to love and is geared towards a younger audience than Galliano's debut scent, 2008's John Galliano for women.

Parlez-Moi d’Amour was developed by perfumer Aliénor Massenet; the notes for the fruity spicy fragrance include bergamot, blueberries, ginger, rose, jasmine, cypress, patchouli and musk.

John Galliano Parlez-Moi d’Amour will be available in Eau de Toilette, and I will update with sizes when I can find them. (via parfums-tendance.fr,parismatch.com)

Update ~ per Women's Wear Daily, Parlez-Moi d’Amour is a fruity floral chypre, and it will launch in the US next spring. It will be available in 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Toilette.

This does not sound at all like my sort of thing, but I think the bottle’s pretty. I like the “stamp” in the corner, and the name is attractive (Speak to me of Love, or something like that, if my French isn’t totally messed up).

      I love the bottle!

Yes, speak to me of love, or talk to me of love. Also the name of a French song:

the “love letter” bottle is pretty…..and the notes sound fine if not unusual…I doubt I’ll ever see a bottle (what with my incredible resistance to actual store-shopping) but I’d sniff it if I did see it. Wonder how the blueberries translate into fragrance? hmmm.

They didn’t release the first JG scent in the US, and don’t know if they’re going to do this one either.

LOL — well, dang girl! guess I won’t see it then…not shopping here at home I’m sure as heck not shopping across the pond….however, if I suddenly found myself across the pond, I think I’d manage to drag myself to a few shops 😉

There are a few really pretty mass market bottles – I’m also thinking of that Hilary Duff one. It is a shame that some of the niche or more interestng perfume houses don’t use pretty bottles so much. THere is nothing wrong with plain bottles – they are easier to store anyway. I know they are supposed to be more austere, etc, but sometimes those pretty “dressing table”l things like cut glass or frills are fun too.

Probably. Now I can’t really remember whatever I heard about the first JG scent. But blueberry doesn’t sound compelling…

blueberry sounds kind of interesting to me….but then I haven’t had breakfast yet….and now I’m thinking of big costco sized blueberry muffins and THAT sounds REALLY good to me….maybe with a huge steaming mug of coffee….mmmmm….

I think if it was a dry, natural blueberry accord it might add an interesting berry accord without being too much syrup. But doubtful.

How in the world is Taylor Momsen getting all these campaigns?? Madonna just used her for her fashion line, too.

Anyone besides me find her eye makeup really disturbing?

I find *her* really disturbing, but coming from the Dolly Parton/Boy George school of makeup application, I really can’t throw stones when it comes to the eyeliner.

      that just made me think,

she’s a total goth. I know John Galliano is all “differant” and everything, but this scent is supposed to smell all sweet. it’s got roses in it, why is she campaigning it ? unless she is the new face of Galliano and they thought might aswell stick her on the new perfume ad :S

Love, love, love that bottle! I’m a huge fan of John Galliano’s fashion, but as is usually the case, I’m sure that the fragrance will not in any way reflect the edgy sensibilities of the designer. (See also Vivienne Westwood, whose rather bland fragrances don’t seem to fit such an avante-garde envelope-pusher. Well, Boudoir was quite nice, actually – but the rest? Yawn.) But as someone here once pointed out, it may be necessary for these designers to release “safe” fragrances with a wider appeal, precisely so that they can make the money needed to keep financing their more adventurous clothing lines. But we’ll see about this one – blueberries as a note don’t automatically throw me off, I suppose it’s all in how they’re blended into the rest of the fragrance.

😮 that’s the new Taylor Momsen
she gave an interview to the tv magazine I was reading with the sunday mirror. they said she was the new face of John Galliano (or least his latest fragrance)

AND I was reading the metro on the was to college this morning and I think Lady Gaga’s meat dress was real meat. I’m not sure because they were vague. but they did say she confirmed launching her own scent 😀 I hope she does 🙂

Sounds Rather Nice. Can’t Stand Taylor. but she will do i guess for the Campaign… (i mean she is no worse really than That Rat Faced Twit Kate Moss or Dead Eyes Natalia Vodianova, Really) The notes are working my nose in a good way, LOVE CYPRESS and With Ginger and Rose, This Cocktail might prove to be Quite to my liking! 😉

I love the pretty bottle sooo much, I MUST like this fragrance. It has ginger and jasmine in it, after all. It is a little twist on the usual fare, hope the blueberry is more wild blueberry. Blueberries have a sort of “clear” smell…who knows?

The bottle is adorable but the mishmash of notes sounds a bit questionable…. But I’ll check it out anyway – ginger and cypress sound good!
