Antonio Banderas for his latest fragrance for men, The Secret.

The music is Ooh La La, originally by Goldfrapp but not sure who did this version.

Seems like it works for the commercial though. And the music sounds identical…just a different vocal? Not sure about that.

Ditto. A little bit of humor goes a long way with me: I like this better than some of the big budget commercials with famous directors & 5 advance trailers that we’ve been seeing lately.

The Secret? Did he get sucked into that Oprah-promoted trash book also?

Nah. It’s probably just intended as the secret to his success with the ladies. ;-)

Or perhaps, his secret is that he is turning around because he realized he walked into the women’s wing of the dorm, and he really is headed for a big date with someone in the men’s wing.

Really, the ad seems to be shouting “This is for straight men who want to score with women.” The word “secret” is a little ambiguous.

Don’t know what that is and refuse to go find out lest I get sucked in too :-)

I highly doubt it’s anything you’d get sucked into, R. Plus, I think that peaked two years ago or so. (insert eyerolling emoticon)

Ok – I am a total sucker for Mr. Banderas. I don’t care if it’s “Tie me up Tie me Down” or “Desperado” – the man has a lot of charisma. Yes, the cover isn’t as good as the original (and I love Goldfrappe), but it is OK for the tone of the ad. It’s clever – I like when the iris dilates. Funny sexy is good in my book. His voice at the end is just amazing anyway.

I love the look on his face at the end. That is a fun ad. Sexy without being too in-your-face and having a sense of humor about it.

I agree, I really like that too. Slight bit of long suffering amazement = “What is a man supposed to do?”

Maybe it smells like a huge chocolate ganache! That would get me crawling on the walls, lol.

If I could smell chocolate ganache through the walls, do you know what trouble i’d be in? oy!

I can only stay off sweet by not bringing them in the house. In sight/smell range, they are devoured pronto.

On the other hand, if Antonio Banderas smelled like chocolate ganache, i’d be weirded out. I don’t think he should wear gourmands.

When I saw the screenshot of the leggy model in the chair my immediate thought was “oh dear, here we go again” so I was totally, pleasantly surprised and I did laugh. Antonio Banderas is actually quite a good comedic actor, imo. Not so infatuated with him as I used to be but still admire him. I guess I can forgive the Goldfrapp “cover” as they might not have been able to get the permission to use the real thing.
