Paris Hilton Tease ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 14 May 2010 77 Comments

Paris Hilton Tease fragrance

Paris Hilton will launch Tease, her tenth fragrance, in June. Tease is "based on Hilton’s fascination with Marilyn Monroe", and is "more evocative of who Paris Hilton is".

Tease is a fruity white floral with notes of Fuji apple, white peach, bergamot, white flowers, amber, blonde woods and warm sand.

Paris Hilton Tease will be available in 50 ($45) and 100 ($55) ml Eau de Parfum.

(quotes via wwd, additional information via stylenews.peoplestylewatch)

Update: Paris Hilton Tease was developed by perfumer Steve DeMercado, and additional notes include "sunny sea mist accord", frangipani, night blooming jasmine and tuberose.

Another update: see a review of Paris Hilton Tease.

Being teased by Paris Hilton is like getting stock market tips from Sesame Street.

More evocative of PH than her other fragrances…she isn’t dressing up like a mermaid or something else crazy. I think that’s what they mean.

Exactly what I thought! Poor Marilyn!
A rather ridiculous assumption that anyone would want to know “who she is”. Doubt there’s anything to know anyway.

Exactly. Time and hindsight have revealed Marilyn Monroe to have been a deep, turbulent soul trapped within a perfect pinup exterior. I imagine that any perfume created to reflect her inner nature would be a complex and challenging work of art– and never would all the facets be covered, nor all the layers be revealed.

Paris Hilton, on the other hand, has little to say– and ten perfumes, one TV show, one album, and a book (all of them awful) to say it in. She seems to think we’re desperate to know more. The problem is, there isn’t that much to tell.

Of course not… yet if there was ever a perfect moment for Marilyn to wreak vengeance from beyond the grave for all that syndication, now would be the time. ;)

Paris Hilton does look really nice in this photo. When you’re imitating a great beauty like Marilyn its hard to do it justice and I think the photographer pulled it off. As for Lollipop Bling…Yuck! Is Mariah serious? That just made me cringe..

I really like the photo, too, though I could generally give a toss about Paris Hilton. It’s glamorous, and she looks genuinely substantial. Not Marilyn bombshell curvy, but not as sylph-like as usual, which I think is surprising and appropriate at the same time. Loving that bottle as well.

In her fascination with MM, how did she overlook that she wore Chanel No. 5 (and nothing else, to bed)? I wonder what Ms. Monroe would have thought of girls like Paris, Lindsey, the Kardashians, et al if she had lived?

Oh my! this is just too good to let pass by without tearing it appart…

What really creeps me out is the POSE in the picture.. I mean it looks like she just sprained her neck! (it reminds me of Death Becomes Her, when Meryl Streep breaks hers on the stairs) and the stole is ill positioned too.
The hair looks weird (too sparse on top, too full everywhere else)

I get it this is a perfume ad, not photography class… but come on!
I haven´t seen a Paris Hilton frag here in Buenos Aires for a couple of years now.. after her TV show (with Nicole Richie) went off the air.. her popularity waned…

Personally, I am very tired of every no-talent starlet thinking she is Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn had more talent–and more intelligence–than the lot of them put together, and she wasn’t an anorexic twig either.

I have to say, though, from the notes listed, this appears to be another brainless, cloying, icky, fruity floral, so maybe it IS evocative of who Paris Hilton is!

When I checked in with NST this morning, the IE window was small on my screen, so that I could only see “Paris Hilton Tease, new perfume” and the picture. And I said to myself, “Why is Paris wearing a Marilyn wig?”

The ad does not make me want to buy Tease. It makes me want to go rent “Some Like It Hot” so I can remember just how gorgeous Marilyn was.

I usually like apple notes – hey, don’t throw things! – but that note list seems to indicate a level of sucrose that would decay your back teeth at twenty paces.

Apple notes do not wear well on me, but I enjoy them on other people. It’s not the apple that turns me off this so much, or the idea of a celebrity scent, but my totol bewilderment at what Paris Hilton has done to merit being called a celebrity…

Say what you will about PH but she may come across as insipid but she has a ton of marketing savvy. She has made her own fortune, not satisfied with just inheriting her family’s. She has followed in Gloria Vanderbilt’s footsteps if you ask me. She has made an art of parlaying fortune into fame. Since this is her 10th perfume, I would say her perfume sells like hotcakes no matter what we think of it or what we think of her. Retro advertising is totally in vogue right now, remember the adcopy for the lates Liz Taylor release – totally retro! And not to mention Paris’ grandfather was married to Dame Liz,

She has had no choice but to make her own fortune. Her Grandfather has decided to leave the majority of the Hilton fortune to charity.

That being said, I wonder how her perfume sales are doing these days.

I read an article about her entire estate coming from her own earnings. So props to her for that. Other than that, her perfumes are just blah. Heiress smells too sweet – still it sells like hotcakes. (I dabble into selling mainstream perfumes and I get a lot of orders/repeat orders for it)

Good luck to her I say. She’s working. She is selling stuff to a market that appreciates it. She can be easily ignored if you don’t like her.

(Maybe the most interesting question, is if she always wears her own fragrances, or if she sneaks the odd drop of No 5 or Joy?)

She doesn’t bother me either – she used to and then, one day, I just didn’t care. I don’t know if it’s the fact that she’s making her own money, she doesn’t seem to be *everywhere* anymore, or if my outrage has moved on to the parade of celebrity “mistresses” who seem to be getting some kind of career out of talking about their affairs with the rich and famous. In any case, she seems to be fairly innocuous nowadays – and if her perfume is dreck, I don’t have to buy it.

I would be interested to know if she actually wore any of this stuff – I’m guessing that, if she does, it’s only for promo appearances.

I Learned a New word from Mr. Andre Leon Talley as he judged on “America’s Next Top Model” and that word is… Say it with me Children…. “Dreckitude!” and that almost magically encompasses anything about Ms. Hilton! Her, Her Fragrances, Anything about her! Her Perfumes, although to call such dreck as they are perfumes is an insult, are unrepentantly HORRID! HOW has she managed to shill 9 different ones, I don’t even think God wants to know how! I just wish she would get hit by a falling Gargoyle or something, just remove her presence from this planet!

It’s not so dreck, if you just take away the apple and peach, name the white notes, add more interesting wood, and have a real sand vibe, I guess nothing that changing it almost completely couldn’t fix.
Marilyn liked Chanel no. 5…so maybe a boozy type of no. 5? But Paris Hilton doing the iconic Marilyn? Poppycock.

I like it and when I find me a bottle for cheap I’ll get it. I like the bottle too. A step up from Sirens & Fairy Dusts for sure! : )
