She’s in Avatar…don’t know what else she’s been in, but that alone will make her well known to people who keep up with that sort of thing. (obviously, that doesn’t include us, LOL)

I googled it after I posted that. And saw she is in Avatar but that still isn’t enought for me.Avon has been using established celebs up until now.She seems so random it doesn’t spark my interest in the fragrance in the least.Looks like another generic Avon fragrance.

Is there a fragrance out there that *doesn’t* claim to embody timeless grace, beauty and elegance? Where’s the fragrance for the clumsy woman?

Holy Cow—that would be my signature fragrance….they could call it “Bruised” or “Swollen Toe” or “Hey, Look out for that Table Corner!”

Mine would be called “Falling Down in Parking Lots” or “Tripping up Stairs”. Yep, I said “up”.

wow, you’re good. Ok, you win.

Oh wait a minute— one time –I hit my face with the refrigerator door!! yup that’s right. So maybe I win! We could call it “Distracted by Pie” or “Resistance” (since closing the door while still ogling the pie was an attempt at resisting a serious pie-diet-violation)

I think we have a winner. :) I would wear that with pride.

I have chronic vertigo, and the irony is that since developing it I fall down a lot *less*. I think I’m just extra careful now because I have to be. But that has nothing to do with other clumsy behavior, such as giving myself a black eye by hitting myself in the face with a phone while trying to untangle the cord.

I’d have to borrow your Tripping Up Stairs. That earned me my first-ever EEG my junior year of college. “Wait, where’s my foot again?”

LOL! That idea and the suggestions are hilarious. But it’s not just ladies that suffer from this problem – I once punched myself in the face at work so bad I actually bled and left a bruise. Try working THAT into a men’s cologne title!

I want to see it too. We never get to the theater, which is too bad because this one won’t be as good on a home TV, I think.

That’s the only time I venture out to the theater. No way am I going to spend $7-10/person to see a romantic comedy… it has to be something “too big” to see at home. (Of course, now I can just take it to my parents’ home. My uncle bought them a ridiculously big tv that takes up an entire wall of what used to be the bedroom shared by my two sisters and me.)

Avatar is a great film and takes about 3 hours. I feel ashamed, but I didn’t recognize the actress or her name.

Hmm … somehow the drydown of many newer Avon fragrances (well, the ones I’ve tried) smells similar, so I wonder about this. It’s like they’re all related to each other or something.

I didn’t know who Zoe Saldana was till I saw Avatar either — Avatar is absolutely amazing, BTW! Cameron really put $280 million to good use.

I saw it at IMAX in Austin in 3D and it was very good. The political themes are quite obvious, but the spiritual ones are a little more subtle and interesting.

Is it just me, or does Avon come up with some seriously hokey names?

Yes, the name is hokey! I would be embarrassed to say I was wearing Eternal Magic. Although it’s no worse than plenty of others out there.

REALLY seriously hokey. But it must be hard to do that many in a year…they do not rest over at Avon.

The CEO is a bit of a Trekkie, so I recognized the name from the newest Star Treck movie, which I shockingly agreed to watch since I gave it to him as a birthday gift and even worse, I ended up liking it. ;) She was Uhura in the movie, who turned out to be a really great character (I’m not very familiar with the ST history or all the incarnations), but Zoe Saldana is a very good actress.

I haven’t bought any Avon perfumes in ages and yes, they do have some cheesetastic names. My personal fave’s still got to be Odyssey followed by Pearls & Lace from way back in my late childhood/early teens. They were both lovely and simple perfumes.

She may be a great actress but her name still doesn’t ring a bell for most of us.I guess it will take time. The ad and the perfume name etc seem so cheesy.I think I will pass.Avon should take a risk and do something really different next time.
That being said I loved and adored Odyssey and Pearls &Lace.I wish they would bring that back.Oh does anyone here remeber the Billy Dee Williams fragrance Undeniable? They should bring that back too.

Just got my Avon catalogue here in itty bitty Engerland – the introduction of Eternal Magic is by international supermodel Ana Beatriz Barros! Very odd – she doesn’t even look like Zoe. The scented page too lightly done (and the ink/paper smells vaguely armpitty)… might ask my new Avon rep for a proper sample altho the intro price of £7 ($5) is very tempting. However, my casket is currently full – in order for the new to come in, something old has to go.
BTW thank you for this blog – I’ve been lurking (and drooling) for about two years and the range and great writing are inspiring.

      Hi and welcome!

And yes, saw a video promo w/ ABB. Maybe they’re only using ZS in some countries, which isn’t that unusual.
