I’m surprised she went with Avon for her perfume. I kind of think of Avon perfumes as a bit low-rent. Although I haven’t smelled any of them, I don’t want to offend anyone!

But that ad is pretty lame. They didn’t strain their brains any thinking that one up.

As Tama notes below, they’re trying to do more upscale scents these days, and doing lots of celebrity tie ins…and don’t know if her name is a big draw or not — maybe it’s the only licensing deal she was offered.

She’s been their spokesperson (spokesmodel?) for a while now. Courtney Cox (excuse me, Courtney Cox-ARQUETTE) also has a fragrance with them. I don’t know, if you’re going to be fronting a fragrance that you really don’t have any say about or hand in creating, might as well be Avon as anyone. I don’t have anything against Avon, and for the price, some of them are pretty good. I like the bottle of this, although maybe it’s just the cap–otherwise it looks like Insolence.

Yes, although Cox did not get a scent under her own name — she’s just the face for Spotlight. Which I assume nets less $ for her? But who knows.

Lovely ad,same here..I am surprised that she choose to promote Avon but heck! why not…it’s inside the bottle that counts! I feel Avon perfumes are getting better all the time.

Avon does seem to be upscaling the perfumes a bit but unfortunately that also makes them more expensive. Still cheap for perfume, but still – Avon should be $5. lol

I can’t help thinking how remarkably this reminds me of Britney Spears’s ad spot. Which one was it, Fantasy? And that dress hurt my feelings.

Hurt your feelings, LOL! It’s a very old-fashioned ad, it actually reminded me of Jontue.

That place reminds me of my backyard as a child. Magnolia’s everywhere…I thought it was more tasteful than 99% of perfume ad’s these days.

Tasteful, yes! To me, just a bit too conventional, but whatever: at least it isn’t offensive.

Her chin bothers me. Always has, always will.

I feel bad. I apologise. I’m sure she’s a lovely person. I, however, clearly have a mean streak. I’m sorry, Reese!

I’m worried about bad perfume karma though. The perfume gods are always listening…

maybe she could stand next to Drew Barrymore and then her chin won’t seem so witchy looking…. chins aside, both Reese and Drew seem like they’d be nice to know.

Lol! Glad you will be joining me in bad perfume karma hell!

LOL I’m not too worried….after all the snarky comments I’ve made over designer’s fragrances, celebrity fragrances and well, for heaven’s sake the comments I’ve made extolling Paris Hilton’s virtues alone (or lack thereof) …..a small comment about chins is hardly going to do any more damage. 😉

I believe snarky comments regarding Paris Hilton actually score you good karma points, so you’ve probably got a nice line of credit stored up. Snark away!

Please don’t diss the chins, gals– Reese’s or Drew’s either. These two star(let)s who can actually act have done a lot to reconcile me to having a witchy chin myself!

But do keep up the snarking action on Paris H. That does build good perfume karma, I’m sure.

Sorry! Will think some extra snarky thoughts about PH to atone – kind of non-denominational “Hail Mary”s…

The ad is a bit Disney princess for my liking. That, and she’s wearing Belle’s dress…
