A different Paris

Posted by Robin on 2 September 2009 18 Comments

A quick ad spot for Lolita Lempicka's new Si Lolita perfume for women, offering an interesting contrast with Yves Saint Laurent's ad for Parisienne. Will you take your Eiffel Tower with piano music and frou frou pastels, or do you prefer pounding guitars and black leather?

If you like the piano music and frou frou pastels, you can play around in the 'apartment' at the interactive Si Lolita website (in French).

Oh, that commercial and interactive apartment are just so utterly charming and beautifully executed from a production standpoint. The YSL ad did little to expand the realm of creativity. Yeah, yeah, it’s all about selling. I know.

Agree — much more creative, at undoubtedly a fraction of the cost of the Parisienne promos. But wish the SL ad had a bit more “action”.

like the soft core action of the Yves Saint Lawrence Parisian ad ?

I think the Si Lolota ad matches the actual smell of Parisienne much better than the soft-porn and black leather one they came up with. Either my nose is shot, or Parisienne is a pretty floral with about as much raunch as a teddy bear.

LOL…as much raunch as a teddy bear! Haven’t smelled it yet myself, but havent’ heard many glowing reports either.

I liked the teasers for the YSL ad, but the full ad was a bit much – it became uncomfortable to watch after awhile. I like the creativity of the Lempikca ad, but it seemed kind of short and unfinished. The music was bland.

I liked the teasers better than the full ad too, but didn’t adore the teasers…and yes, they could have done more w/ the Si Lolita. We need something in between.

the Si Lolita ad was interestingly different, even if it could have used a little something “more” ….now where DID I put my flowered nipple covers?…….
    ;-)

No, it’s just the sequined ones that need dry cleaning. The others you can pop in the wash with your delicates. ;)

I’d like to live in that interactive apartment … what amazing windows! And there’s even a cat.

This is going to drive me crazy, but that Si Lolita bottle looks really familiar. I swear someone else has used a similar design.
