Dolce & Gabbana Rose The One ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 24 June 2009 32 Comments

Dolce & Gabbana Rose The One perfume

Dolce & Gabbana will launch Rose The One, a new rose-centered flanker to 2006's Dolce & Gabbana The One fragrance for women. It follows L'Eau The One, released earlier this year.

The notes include blackcurrant, pink grapefruit, mandarin, lily of the valley, rose, litchi, peony, Madonna lily, ambrette seed, sandalwood, musk and vanilla.

Dolce & Gabbana Rose The One will be available in 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum. (via parfumerie.nl)

Sounds test worthy…I’m always a sucker to try anything with roses. Maybe it will be nice? It is hard to say sometimes with those fruits in the description.

Maybe it will! I am not a big fan of the original.

Sounds like it’s going to be pink-heavy with a fruity emphasis and has the generic dry down.

My thoughts exactly. (Well, maybe my exact thoughts were along the lines of, “That doesn’t sound good at all.”) I think I’m done with mass-market fragrances for a while. :(

Did it not occur to anyone on the marketing team that “The One Rose” is a much much much better name?

I don’t remember having even tried the original The One, so either I didn’t actually try it (unlikely) or it was seriously boring (very probable, given that the men’s version was one of the most uninteresting things I’ve ever smelled).

They were probably afraid of the Tolkien ring (no pun intended, honest!) of that…

Maybe they think bad grammar sounds hip??

I think they’re stuck with the naming convention after L’Eau The One, which is pretty darned funny translated — the water the one.

      How about ‘The Rose One’?

Anyway, I HATED The (First) One.

          It is!

          “What are you wearing?”

“Oh, you know. The rose one.”

    The One Rule is this:

    SOMETHING MUST BE PINK!!!

No pink pepper in this one, so it must be pink grapefruit.
Wonder what they’ll be “pinking” next …

This is fronted by Scarlett Johansson. The ad is ugly. Can’t wait to smell this, though :)

I don’t hate the ad, although not sure I love it either. She looks pretty, at any rate.

I just tried this today from one of those towelettes from an ad in Cosmo, and it actually wasn’t fruity to me. It smells almost like Stella but less salty, I think.

When I smelled this in a magazine it smelled just like the original, but I tried it in Macy’s and I really liked it! They only had the Body Lotion to buy and the Tester to try. They didn’t have the bottles for purchase, yet. They had shipped my Macy’s the lotions but forgot to send the bottles. I really liked it and I had a chance to smell them all at the same time to compare. I’m gonna get this the day they get the bottles! ScarJo is my girl! Glad they got her!

I like it better than the original too, but still don’t love it. You should be able to buy it at Nordstrom if you’re in a rush — pretty sure they have it already.

I think its much better then the original. I hated the original and l’eau. They were both just gross & weird. All I smell w/ this one is grapefruit. Its nice but I dont need a bottle at all.

I just bought this today, I couldn’t stand the original The One, but I really do like this, it lasts for quite a while on my skin too. I do think my nose is getting a wee bit confused though I keep smelling apples when I smell this perfume haha.

I am new here, I have a question, I just love very soft rose fragrances so is this a good soft rose fragrance or do you know any others that has a soft and sensual rose scent? Thank you for any help that you can offer
