Boss Orange by Hugo Boss ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 30 April 2009 15 Comments

Sienna Miller for Hugo Boss Boss Orange perfumeHugo Boss will launch Boss Orange, a new fragrance for women fronted by actress Sienna Miller, in June. It is the first women's perfume from the Boss Orange label, which is described as sportier than the Hugo and Boss Black lines.

The Boss Orange fragrance is described as "sensual and luminous", and as a perfect match with the casual, bohemian chic style shared by Sienna Miller and the Boss Orange line. The scent features notes of apple, orange blossom, jasmine, plum, white peach, vanilla, sandalwood and olive tree wood.

Hugo Boss Boss Orange will be available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching body products. (via vogue.fr, fr.fashionmag) Update: Boss Orange will also be in 30 and 75 ml. (via cosmoty.de)

orange blossoms? yes……apples? nope….now apple BLOSSOMS I could go for, but apples (while tasty to eat) turn all sour on my skin. So this is one orange blossom I won’t go out of my way to sniff. Especially since I’m waiting breathlessly for my John Varvatos Artisan to arrive! And I’ve been very very good and only spritzed my Mother’s Day Le Labo Fleur d’Oranger 2 or 3 times….ok, 4 times…but it’s right there in the fridge! If they didn’t want me sneak a little they should have HID IT!

LOL…apparently they really should have hidden it! Do they know you’re cheating?

absolutely….when the CEO put my birthday perfume (last month) on the top shelf of his closet I asked “how in the world I was supposed to reach it way up there?” Later I found a chair had been conveniently placed next to the shelf for me…..

The huge scandal of her with married Balthazar Getty…all the kissing photos and the nude Sienna Miller out on a boat with him while his wife thought they were happily married…
She, in general, is known as someone who leans towards married men…

Scandal rarely seems to affect a celebrity’s viability as a front for perfume — just look at Paris Hilton or Britney Spears.

It is a nice scent for summer days, as is Hugo XX for woman. Boss Orange stays longer on the skin (my skin), the other scents of Boss disappear within a few minutes. I love Hugo XX for woman, but as said it is gone within a very short time.

I can’t make up my mind about this fragrance. Hugo Boss in general has both appealing and dull fragrances for me – Deep Red being my favorite, it works really well with my chemistry, lingers on my skin and clothes forever and gets me compliments every single time.

Boss Orange, however, strikes me as different from the other ones (although I’ve only smelled XX once or twice and not on my skin, so I can’t draw a fair comparison), it doesn’t strike me as dull, but it doesn’t particularly stand out either. It’s actually bothering me because I got a bottle and I can’t decide whether I want to return it or not.

For some reason there’s something in Boss Orange that vaguely reminds me of Burberry for Women (the sandalwood, maybe?), even though they are completely different fragrances.

It’s like I want to like it and there is something about it I do like, but also something in it that bothers me and I’m not sure which note that is. I might give it a few more days before I return it.

I still have not tried it. I think the Hugo Boss line is not such a big deal in the US…I have not seen Boss Orange anywhere.
