Narciso Rodriguez will launch Essence, a new fragrance for women, this coming March. Rodriguez says Essence is “very sexy but has that crisp, clean, pure quality of sunlight”, and is a daytime scent for the woman who wears Narciso Rodriguez For Her at night.
Essence is a floral powdery musk and was developed by perfumer Alberto Morillas; the notes include iris, rose, benzoin and musk notes…

There are two perfumes for men that I’ve been forced to defend for almost 20 years. Friends, and strangers, to my face, have called these two fragrances “dandyish” “old fashioned” “of another time” and (for me, the worst) “grandfatherly.” There’s nothing wrong with grandfathers; my maternal grandfather was a sweetie who spent his leisure time reading and collecting stamps; he ran a small, country general store, geared more towards small talk and checkers than merchandise, and he smelled of vanilla, pipe tobacco and beagles. What bothers me about the “grandfatherly” adjective when it comes to describing perfume is this: “grandfatherly” implies a scent is passé. What are the two perfumes I’m always ready to defend? Hugo Element by Hugo Boss, Ebba By Sky ~ new fragrances
Hugo Boss will launch Hugo Element, a new fragrance that aspires to "upgrade the adolescent image of the Hugo brand", this coming February. The target is urban men, the bottle is meant to recall an oxygen tank, and the face for the fragrance will be actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who has fronted the Hugo by Hugo Boss scents since last year (you can see two of the TV spots here).
