Courteney Cox will be the face of Avon's Spotlight fragrance for women, due to launch in April. The new scent for women hopes to "capture the growing excitement of the world's fascination with celebrity and notions of fame"; the tagline will be "Step Into It". According to Cox...
...all women are in the spotlight in their own unique ways and this fragrance highlights the excitement and the exhilaration of that feeling.
Spotlight was developed by perfumer Jean-Marc Chaillan:
The top notes of the Fresh Oriental scent were inspired by the feeling of excitement before a big moment. An icy silver accord meets illuminating citrus with sun-ripened fresh mandarin pur and Italian bergamot essence, extracted via cold press from the peel of the fruit. At the heart of Spotlight are deluxe naturals only available from IFF's exclusive Laboratoire Monique Remy, a state-of-the-art laboratory and manufacturing facility in France. This luminous floral heart combines pristine hydroponic white freesia, which is nurtured in a purely aqueous environment void of any impurities, rich tuberose absolute, and mimosa pur to capture the essence of confidence and radiance as you step into the spotlight. The base notes include sexy undertones of creamy cashmere sandalwood and precious vetiver with a kiss of white vanilla musk that leaves a lasting impression.
Avon Spotlight will be available in 50 ml, concentration unknown, in a quilted glass bottle for $22.50. (quotes via prnewswire, additional information via wwd)
Other recent launches from Avon: Bond Girl 007, Tahitian Holiday, Make Me Smile, Make Me Wonder, Fire Me Up, Patrick Dempsey Unscripted.
Sounds like it will probably smell pretty meh-to-standard after you strip that press release of its fanciful prose.
Too bad Courtney Cox has been the kiss of death for just about everything she's done in the past five years.
Cute bottle though. I dig the quilting.
Has she been the kiss of death? I don't know a thing about what she's done for the past 5 years.
I think it's the “Friends curse.” As far as I know, every show she's tried to start has been canceled within a season or less (most recently “Dirt” on FX) and she has not been in a successful movie in quite some time.
Hopefully not because she smells bad.
lol – the prose makes it sound like it should cost about $1000 a bottle! Being a quilter, I may have to get some just for the bottle, though. For just over $20 I can indulge even if it is stanky.
White freesia is a great smell – the flowers smell like pepper and not much like flowers. I can't imagine they would get it right here, but it would be a nice note if they did.
It really does — quite a steal for $23 😉
Diptyque Ofresia is about the only freesia scent that REALLY called up the flower for me, but I don't really love it, whereas I do like the scent of the real thing.
If you like the quilted bottle Estee Lauder's Emerald Dream, Bali Dream and one other that I can't remember the name of is in a bottle similar. Bali Dream is pretty ordinary but the Emerald Dream is a nice green fragrance reminiscent of Calyx.
“Step Into It” ??!
I suppose the PR folks don't own dogs…or cows, or horses or animals of any kind.
Ha! I doubt that's what they had in mind, but like you, I don't think any of those PR people grew up on a farm.
LOL — one hopes…
I didn't either, so didn't think of it that way!
Looks like a rip-off of David Yurman's bottle, only in silver. The description sounds appealing, but then, that's what the writers are paid for 😉
Wow, I didn't notice but you're so right — very much like the DY!
Courteney Cox is an amazing actress, the problem is people expect to see Monica Geller in everything she does, and they dont see it, cause of course its totally different characters!! I personally loved Dirt! Now she will be in a new tv series called Cougar Town, which will air on ABC channel! Check out a preview at: http://abc.go.com/fallpreview/index?pn=cougartown
Go CC!!!
Thanks!
