Lolita Lempicka Fleur de Corail / Coral Flower ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 30 June 2008 25 Comments

Lolita Lempicka Coral FlowerHere are more details on Lolita Lempicka's latest fragrance, Fleur de Corail / Coral Flower.

As previously announced, it is a "sister scent" to 2006's L de Lolita Lempicka and was developed by perfumer Maurice Roucel. The notes for the solar floral oriental fragrance include grapefruit, bergamot, frangipani, vanilla orchid, driftwood, musk and amber.

Lolita Lempicka is available in 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum. The bottle features an "L" charm encrusted with white pearls. It can be found now in France, and is expected to launch in the US shortly. (via news-parfums.com, marionnaud.fr).

Sounds like the summer flanker, no?

I'm pretty sure this is not a limited edition though…we'll see. I thought the Forbidden Flower smelled exactly like a summer flanker to Lolita Lempicka.

L is interesting, sweet and salty and develops nicely.

    The other LL's I can't stand.

Will be looking forward to this one with interest. Is there a difference except for the bottle? LOL

I'm trying really hard to imagine what driftwood smells like, soggy tree?

I've got to at least try it, I have a LL lust. (especially in mini form)

Can anyone suggest how to get hold of the Midnight Stardust and Midnight Sun versions in the UK or Europe?
The original Midnight is occasionally still available on ebay. And how do they all compare?

Like very pale wood, usually, with hints of aquatic stuff.

Other than eBay, I've no idea, sorry! And have only smelled 1 of them so can't compare.

The grapefruit sounds good. And hopefully it's quite woody later on. I'm afraid I'm growing obsessed with this brand. I must be getting soft in my old age – fairy tale themed things never used to appeal before.

I recently (within the last 3 weeks) moved to Northern France. I happened to stop by a fragrance shop and was drawn to this bottle. As soon as I took the spray nozzle to my nose I instantly knew I loved this fragrance. I went to find a cardborad tester strip to spray it and voila I was in heaven. If you are familiar with incense, you will recognize that this Fleur de Corail smells very similar to Nag Champa. Only a little lighter and a bit more fruity. This fragrance is sweet, musky, and fruity. Mostly noting the sweet, a bit of musk, and a finish of fruit. My nose works well, however I have a terrible time describing scents. I hope I can do this one justice. I hope I can help anyone who is curious. I am not a fan of any of the other Lolita Lempicka fragrances. However after smelling this one I cannot fathom ever being without it. Fleur de Corail is very soft and feminine yet bold and beautiful. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I cannot wait till the ladies of the U.S. can indulge also!

Well, as I live in Germany which is dominated by Douglas Parfumshop, which is a quite mediocre store where you won't find all those precious parfums…. I won't catch this promising scent until I get to bigger cities like Hamburg or such. I like all of Lolita Lempicka fragrances, especially “au masculin”.

Hope you'll manage to get your hands on this one! Not sure it's in the US yet either.

It's funny that you mention the Douglas Parfumshop specifically. I actually picked up the Fleur de Corail at a Douglas shop in a smaller Northern French city, maybe 20,000 inhabitants in the entire surrounding area. The shop was small and only carried a small selection of only the best fragrances, cosmetics and skin care from the best lines. (In my opinion.) I can only guess it's available here because I'm in France. I hope it finds it's way to you soon and to the US also.

I bought the 30 ml at Sephora today. I was returning Guerlain Pamplelune (I am one who cannot wear that one…whew!), and saw Fleur de Corail. I tried it on a paper strip…nice…then sprayed my arm…even nicer…then bought the last bottle they had in case I still liked it when I got home. Yes, I still like it a couple of hours later. It is different than the other scents I currently own. Plus the bottle is cute…though not as nice as the other bottles, of which I snagged samples of to try later.

Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the “can't wear Pamplelune” club!

I just got a bottle of this and I love it. I really wanted to like the regular L de Lolita but to me it just smelled like a never ending blast of lemon sugar and I can’t stand sweet / sugary scents. This one tones down the sweetness enough to actually smell the other ingredients.

meant to say really wanted to like the regular L de Lolita because the bottle was so pretty. So glad they made one in a similar bottle that I can actually wear!

It’s a great bottle, although I can never decide if I really like it or not. But I found the regular too sweet also & should try this one!

I found this at Marshalls for 14 bucks the other day. I have the original L so I decided to give it a try. To my surprised, I liked the Coral Flower more! Its lighter and cleaner, I find making it easier to wear then the original. I like them both but they dont beat my beloved Lolita Lempicka at all! Still havent gotten to really try Forbidden Flower! : (!

Oh, I was not after the LL in particular, just meant that whenever I see something there that I want, it’s always the most expensive thing they have! I keep waiting for an excellent $9.99 bargain :-)

O I was talking about the Donna Karan Gold we were talking about the other day. Not the Lolita. Im sure you wont care for it seeing as how you didnt much care for the original. Ive never found a 9.99 bargain either!
