Workshop with Mandy Aftel at Henri Bendel in New York City

Posted by Robin on 13 April 2008 2 Comments

Perfumer Mandy Aftel of Aftelier will be holding a natural perfumery workshop at Henri Bendel on Thursday, May 8 from 6 - 8 pm.

Meet Mandy as she presents a step by step fragrance tutorial blending hand-crafted perfumes.

Create your own unique, artisan perfume using Mandy’s supply of all natural, beautiful essences from around the world. Choose from indulgent scents such as wild sweet orange from the Dominican Republic and fresh ginger from Indonesia.

Enjoy light refreshments and hor d’ oeuvres, and take away a special gift bag from Henri Bendel.

The workshop costs $150 and includes materials to create your personal 1/4 oz perfume and one of Mandy’s 2 ml mini perfumes of your choosing.

To reserve your spot, call Henri Bendel at 212.904.7990. (via naturalperfumersguild.blogspot

Very cool. I mentioned this before in a thread sometime last year, but I took her solid perfume workshop a few years back when I lived in San Francisco, and it was quite enjoyable. I just secured the materials for the blend I came up with, so I'm eager to see if it holds up.

The price point isn't bad at all, considering that you get to create a 1/4 oz. perfume. I believe that I paid just about as much or maybe a little less for my workshop, but I think the Bendel workshop is the better value.

I think the price is excellent, actually, esp. when you consider how much you'd pay for a 2 ml Aftelier scent to begin with. Would love to take one of these classes.
