Totally yuck

Posted by Robin on 31 March 2008 11 Comments

Sickly. Awful. Totally yuck.

Smells like you have your head stuck in a candyfloss machine.

Thanks for the fun article–love the description of Angel as the Marmite of perumes–lol!

I'm glad to see this kind of thing in print. We need more of this kind of reporting on the perfume industry: poking holes in the marketing hype. It sounds like Luca's book will go a long way towards that, too.

Lovely is a “modern-day lily of the valley”??

Agree — nice to see some snark once in awhile :-)

I have to agree, I like the biting commentary. It's always good to see a little honesty every once in a while.
I also have to agree with the comment about Valentino's Rock N' Rose – Definitely paint thinner.

The Marmite … or maybe even the Marmaduke invading space.

Some of them really surprised me though…MJ Daisy, for instance, I would never call “sophisticated & certain to be a classic”, although I did think it was nice. Ah well, half the fun is arguing about the choices…

Yes, I expected the Daisy to receive a more scathing review. In my perfume journal, I had written that RocknRose smelled like a public bathroom toilet freshener, so I was quite pleased with their “mall” association. Now I want to smell Blue Grass. Is it anything like Vent Vert?

Those two reviews are pretty much spot-on lol

It has been soooo many years since I've smelled Blue Grass — I'll be no help, sorry!

I don't love either fragrance, but in both cases I can think of better examples of “yuck” & “head stuck in candyfloss” :-)
