Whooo-hooo! What a stunningly original idea – get a famous person to be the face of your very special and unique perfume. Just genius!

    LOL!

And to add to your ever growing list: Michael Knight (of limited Project Runway fame) announced during the reunion episode this week that he invested part of his winnings into putting out his own fragrance.

Ok, I'll have to google Michael Knight, thanks!

Maybe I live on a different planet, but do you have anybody around you who will run to buy a perfume, just because it is Justin smiling next to the bottle?

I have to admit that I would at least make an effort to sniff an Erykah Badu fragrance, although I am sure I will be disappointed. But I think she is cool, so I would hope that it would be out of the ordinary. If we're really lucky, they'll call it Baduizm.

Justin IS easy on the eyes (mine, anyway), but doubt I'll run to a fragrance counter to sample what he's advertising.

On the other hand, I'm interested in the new Calvin Klein fragrance. I hope it's something the lines of an oriental unlike Euphoria.

ME!!! Just kidding. But I would rip the ads out of magazines and hang them on the ceiling over my bed.

At least they are a spokesperson for the perfume instead of making one of their own..LOL I don't mind celebs being the face of a product, but trying to make people believe they created a perfume has gotten beyond annoying. The perfume counters are getting crowded.

Really K, you like JT? His appeal is totally lost on me. Talking his looks only — never heard his music. Am I the most culturally lost person on the planet, or what???

*weeps* I don't know who she is either. I am soooo out of it. Will google her later today.

Baduism is a great name though.

Have to admit to liking me some JT. I can't help it. It's the big goofy grin, I think. And the ability to dance. I find that appealing. Liked his last album, too, I'm embarrassed to admit.

    Robin, Robin, Robin.

What do you *do* with your time? Read?! LOL! I'm kidding, really!

Mr. Timberlake's appeal really hits when he's in motion with that bad boy twinkle in his eye, he is a sexy little bugger! I'll find you a video or two when I get home.

Oh, no, now I've made you cry. (Either that, or you've been sniffing at that bottle of Skarb again…) If you look up EB on Amazon, you can listen to some snippets of her songs. She has a cool look, I think. I used to work with a lot of artists and musicians, who helped me get over some of my terminal cluelessness, otherwise I would be horribly out of touch.

i probably won't go as far as to buy it unsniffed, but I'll be curious enough to make an effort to try it!

am already visualising his commercial with “Sexy Back” or “I think that she knows” as background!

He's cuter when he's moving, dancing, singing, what have you. He's got a lot of personality, and I really like what he's doing with dance/pop music. And yes, I think “most culturally lost person on the planet” is a fair assessment. Even my unborn children have heard JT's SexyBack!

That said, if I could afford it I would get you a subscription to People magazine. And possibly talk you into becoming a “big sister” to a tween girl – they are a wealth of useless pop info.

Hey, eventually my son will get into this stuff, right? And then I'll learn. At the moment, he's only 9 and all he cares about is Star Wars, and his favorite song is (I'm sorry to say) “Best Day Ever” by Spongebob.

“It's the best daaaay ev-errrrrrrr!” We love that song at our house too. :)

Nope, cause he's not a girl. Most guys will have those same interests for life (computers, star wars, cartoons, sports, etc…), my husband (and most guys I know) being examples of that.

*I know I'm stereotyping. But, oh well.

Allright, here you go…all the JT you can handle. Maybe more!

    Sexyback is good.

    What goes around is good.

And my favorite right now is Lovestoned – it's towards the bottom.

sorry to hear that you don't like him. I absolutely adore JT, think he's got great talent. Futuresex/Love sound is such a creative breakthrough, PLUS the MTV for Sexy back can very well be a perfume commercial: he and the lady spy follow each other because of their perfumes…

Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman, Johnny Depp, Jon Stewart, Ira Glass. Owen & Luke Wilson, both kind of. Pierce Brosnan is getting better & better as he ages. Sean Connery, of course!

And People is right, Matt Damon is mighty cute.

LOL – I have no idea what his appeal is either- zero sex appeal, and even at my age (ahem) I can and do appreciate the younger male stars. NOTHING. I don't get it. Plus he is tarred with the Britney brush too, so maybe it's partly by association….anyway I predict that the fragrance will be entirely predictable. :-)

Ira Glass' voice is what sucked me into the geekdom of NPR – such a cutie too!

R, I know you are not *that* old (whatever too old is?). I totally concur with your list and will add Anthony Bourdain to it.

JT is definitely not eye candy. Especially with the hair on his face and not on his head. He was so much cuter when he had natural curls when he was with Britney. Sexy? Uh, no. But there is no doubt that he is talented as a singer and dancer. I'm not a big fan of music but his latest album has absolutely infectious tunes. His parody song “****” In A Box” on the Xmas show of Saturday Night Live won an Emmy. It's brilliant and you should google it for a laugh.

Perfumesecrets makes the point here that some celebrities are hired to be spokemodels like Hilary Swank for Insolence or Gwyneth Patrow for Pleasures. These fragrances are not BY these people but merely promoted by their faces. I think Sarah Jessica Parker had something to do with hers and there are surely others who had some input into fragrances with their name on them. I find it interesting that no one has commented on the Celine post. I don't dare get started on that one. I cannot bear to even look at the video.

Voice is a huge part of sexy, to me — that is why Alan Rickman gets high marks also :-)

Haven't watched AB's show, but I will — have read him though.

Think that Charlize Theron does a great ad for Dior J'Adore and she would be a wonderful model for any cosmetic brand.

Denzel Washington is so good looking and would be my choice. And of course Johnny Depp. Can picture Johnny Depp as a pirate putting a huge bottle of perfume to his mouth, assuming it's some great liquor..
