Doesn't excite me about 'Showtime' any more than I wasn't excited already, but did inspire me to look up the video of 'Can't get you out of my head', with the famous slashed white hoodie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uxjNEESomA

    I love this song!

Can't get you out of my head (and her other dance stuff) is great to clean house to! As fun and cute (she is sooo tiny, barely 5 feet tall – wish my short little legs looked that good!) as she is I'm not in any rush to try this one.

R- I don't know how you have managed to escape so much trashy pop culture, I almost envy you – but if I knew you I'd probably just corrupt you! LOL!

VanillaGirl, will have to check that out — the fame of the “slashed white hoodie” missed my neck of the woods 😉

R, I manage to escape because a) I don't listen to the radio, only my iPod, and b) my son, as yet, shows no interest in popular music, and c) there are only 2 TV shows I watch regularly, almost all my other viewing is through Netflix. So I'm out of it!

All good reasons. I suspect that knowing who's who in the pop world *might* not be as important as I like to pretend it is! Sometimes I feel like I'm preparing for a game show that I'll never be on (because I'm shy and I hate game shows). 😉

Hey, I wish I knew more about pop culture than I do, and I definitely wish there was a better way to find new music I might like (am fond of Pandora for that, but I still feel like I'm missing things). I used to be more “with it”. But the internet eats up so much extra time already, between blogging and reading stuff elsewhere. Something's gotta give!

I have 3 of Kylie's albums, and I've never heard this song before. It sounds like it's from her Light Years album though.

I'm kinda not diggin the ad, or the idea of the fragrance. Her latest album is pure avante-guard fashion, filled with electro 80's retro neon songs. Showtime doesn't seem to say that at all.

Oh, and Kylie is just about the farthest thing from trashy.

Clarifying: I meant pop culture *in general* is trashy business, not Kylie, who I do like! (music and personality!)

    I am a recovering Stock Aitken & Waterman Addict…

Slash, that… I still like them!

So I was into Kylie in '88…. 🙂

She is cute but I am not hoping for much with her perfumes.

I think Siohban Fahey (Bananarama/Shakespear's Sister) would be a much more interesting/intiguin/freaky celebrity to launch a perfume…

And there you have it Rose….. The gameshow you'll never be in..well, I have spent much of my life preparing for that too..

“Never gonna give you up…never gonna let you down…” 🙂

I had to Google “Stock Aitken & Waterman”, is that pathetic?

  11. Anonymous says:

Terribly pathetic, they are authors who wrote songs for many less or more popular pop stars like Kylie. Don't waste your time. 🙂

I don't like Kylie's songs and this type of music, but she is a big fighter and winner, she was very seriously ill recently.

  12. Anonymous says:

Oh, maybe I wrote it incorrectly. This trio of music authors is pathetic and not you googling their names.

    I hope I wasn't impolite…:-)

  13. Anonymous says:

LOL — not at all, I “got it”. I did know Kylie had breast cancer, in fact, that & the fact that she had a perfume was all I knew about her until I watched the video.

  14. Anonymous says:

No, what is pathetic is a 34 y.o. male who likes bubblegum pop 🙂

You are nowhere to be seen near the definition of pathetic in my book. I'd probably look you up under Classy 😉

    P.

You are way kinder than I deserve — I LOVE bubblegum pop. My idea of bubblegum pop is just from another era! Here is a clue: I still have Hamilton, Joe Franks & Reynolds “Don't Pull Your Love Out On Me Baby” on my iPod & I crank it up when I'm alone in the car. HA!
