Prince to launch perfume in Minneapolis

Prince will launch his upcoming fragrance, 3121, in his hometown of Minneapolis with a concert at Macys:

The singer will shill for his new perfume line, 3121, with an unusual performance on the eighth floor of Macy’s in downtown Minneapolis on July 7, the same day as his previously announced Target Center concert.

Seats to the fragrance jam will be sold in a $250 Ultimate Prince Xperience package, which includes one ticket to both the 4 p.m. Macy’s gig and the 7:30 p.m. Target Center show, plus two special-edition bottles of his eau de parfum…

Giorgio Armani Attitude fragrance for men

Giorgio Armani’s new fragrance for men, Attitude, was created by Annick Menardo, Alberto Morillas and Olivier Cresp. All three perfumers have worked for Armani before: Menardo created Emporio Armani City Glam for men and women (with the help of Cresp) and Morillas developed Emporio Armani White, Sensi, Sensi White Notes, and the female version of Aqua di Gio.

Menardo (Boucheron Jaipur Pour Homme, Bvlgari Black), Morillas (Bvlgari Omnia, Yves Saint Laurent M7) and Cresp (Thierry Mulger Angel) have all created interesting and original scents, so why did it take all three of them to come up a conventional fragrance like Attitude…

Perfume on the radio: gourmet perfume dinners

Perfume Dinner Is a Feast for the Nose, on this morning's NPR Morning Edition, reports on an event at the Carlyle Hotel in which Chandler Burr hosts a "gourmet dinner designed to show how perfume can enhance food and drink".
